Traxxas Scaler/crawler

For scale this is about perfect. Open diffs are great for most trail running and lock em up when needed. They turn so much tighter when front is open diff. It'll be a hit. It does not feel cheap and cheasy or like its made of chineseium it feels good and solid. Sucks to se and touch but not take it home. Yet..........

Welcome to the non scale guys!
If you've tried to run an SCX10 at anything above 10mph, you'll understand why open diffs are not really needed on a scaler. Barrel rolls are in the forecast regardless of the axle settings. I think it's a neat feature, but what happens in a 1:1 does not always translate into 1/10. A slight overdrive on the front axle will help the turning as much as an open diff and keep the costs down.
Having said that, I have a 3-speed truck with 2/4 wheel drive capability - I like gimmicks. Makes the trail more interesting.
I spoke to Tower on Friday and asked if they had order info or a timeline yet. They do not. In fact, they have not heard a peep from TRX about it.

I'm a bit burnt out on Land Rovers. Nothing against Traxxas (pssh) or Land Rover, it is a great looking body, but we need something new. How about like a Hummer, or a G-Wagon, or a 4Runner, or something interesting like that?
Something like Axial's old SCX10 Power Wagon. That was cool.

looks good over all after looking at the pictures.
The proof is how it will hold up.
There are alot of bearings and moving parts especially with those axles.
Not to sound negative but after 30 years in this hobby Simplicity is just nothing to be looked past.

So the grandson and I go to the local shop where they have a demo model which I wish I'd ran at the open house but was to busy (jump contest). Went there last Saturday and they had smoked the esc. Not sure what happened but we left with sad faces. Got a call today it is fixed and we can come try it Saturday but supposed to be out of town. Dangit! I've had the worst luck on this deal. May go (borrow) it when they're not watching and make my own vid.

I agree. Price is right where it was expected to be considering 4 waterproof servos, lipo ready waterproof esc and a 2.4 radio I personally have always found to be rock solid. I believe this will be making a huge push towards mainstreaming scale trucks. Traxxas almost single handedly is pushing this hobby forward and spreading the fun.
