Wheels and Tires and Foam
#16
I have a stock $150 1/16th crawler i'm happy with as is, but i'm kinda hesitantly willing to do some mods if they're somewhat reversible should i really f**k things up. I haven't ventured into any kind of tabletop surgeries yet because i don't fully understand the industry terminology, techniques, and aftermarket products. Compatibility and fitting is still a mystery.
Here are my crawler and new tire possible combo, yet i know nothing about tire sizes and axle/wheel standard fits:
the truck:
RWS 1/16th off-road crawler #136161
wheelbase-200mm, wheel-68*26mm
the tires i'd like to install:
RC4wd interco superswamper tsl thornbird 10-scale
(sorry, being a newbie, the forum won't permit me to attach links or photos...)
There are two different tire sizes available. I don't know which one, if either, would work. I'm willing to trim fenders a bit if need be. My biggest concern is "tire to wheel to axle" compatibility, clearances, and whether or not itz do-able. I don't want to end up tossing it into the trashbin when i maybe should just leave things as they are.
So, i'd like some detailed help if anybody's qualified and interested! I'm looking for easy-going mentors to learn from and locals to crawl with. You'll hafta dumb-down the terminology to newbie-level until i've got some time put in.
lemme know. I'm willing to exchange email addresses with friendlies, and meet with locals. Seeing how i'm a elder family member caregiver and un-vaccinated,
...safe and health-mandated get-togethers only, please!
cheers and happy holidaze!
