Drivers Stand Etiquette:

This is a list of a few simple guidelines to make life on the drivers stand easier for everyone. As we are all aware, racing can be intense and requires your full attention. Distractions can be difficult to deal with and potentially damaging, either to one's race results or their car.

Once you are on the drivers stand, stay there. It is very tempting to hop off the stand if your car is stuck, damaged or completely broken down, but leaving the drivers stand means that you are done for that race and cannot re-enter anyway, so please stay put and do not distract the other racers.

Remember, the job of corner marshals, aside from getting cars back onto their wheels, is to make minor repairs, so be patient with them for there is alot going on for them as well. If the marshal cannot fix the problem, please exercise your patience and accept that the race is over for you. There is always another race.

Communication on the drivers stand is also important. Talking to other drivers about situations or dangers on the track is a good idea. Letting others know that there is a crash or that you are about to pass them is good practice, too. Also, if you pay attention to your number for a given heat, you can get an idea of where you stand in a race and also know who is in the lead. The computer announces race order several times during a heat to assist in this. Watch out for the leaders and do your best to allow them to pass when they come by. This will allow for some great battles that keep the excitement flowing!

Also note, during a race you must be on the drivers stand to participate. If you miss the start of a race, please do not drive from the pits or elsewhere.

Marshaling

Marshaling can sometimes be complex. It involves not only getting cars back on course, but getting them on course in the correct order as well as the correct direction, avoiding blocking other cars and often making minor repairs or adjustments to both the cars and the course. so again be patient with the marshals. Shouting to a marshal may or may not have the effect you were hoping for. They're busy out there and may not even know who is shouting to them or what the problem actually is. Have patience, please.

Here are some guidelines to make the situation better for all of us.

IF YOU JUST RACED REMEMBER YOU ARE UP NEXT FOR MARSHALING, THIS WILL HELP KEEP THE FLOW OF THE NIGHT GOING ON TIME. You will have time to pit in the following heat. If you're running two classes and have to miss marshaling the next heat, then please volunteer for another. We understand that when one runs two classes they're going to be busy, but that's the responsibility that comes with the fun.

If you bring a new racer to the club with you, we ask that you either buddy up with them for their first few rounds of marshaling duties, or that you marshal in their place. Having an experienced friend alongside will allow a new racer to see what needs to be done and how to do it, as well the will understand more clearly what is going on.

We are asking that children not marshal by themselves. The track can be a dangerous place for a child, and the last thing we want to see is a young racer getting hurt. If you do have a child with you that wishes to marshal, we ask that you team up a responsible adult with them, or explain to them why they cannot be allowed to marshal on their own.

Race Director/Computer Area

We ask that all racers refrain from entering the area behind the race director during and after races. Please wait for the results to be posted following each race. The last thing a race director wants is to have someone behind them shouting out running results.

THIS RACE WAS GREAT TO WATCH, FOR ALNOOR AND COLTON WHENT FROM STEM TO STERN AND FOLLOWED EACH OTHER AROUND THE TRACK, IT WAS GREAT TO SEE ALNOOR GET HIS CAR WORKING THAT WELL FROM LAST WEEKEND TO COMPETE AND GET A CHANCE TO BUMP UP. THESE OTHER DRIVERS IN THE RACE DID A SUPER JOB GETTING OUT OF THE WAY AND STILL GET THERE LAPS. BUT IN THE END COLTON OUT RAN ALNOOR FOR THE BUMP UP TO THE B-MAIN. GREAT JOB ALL

Connall must've cut back on the Red Bull yesterday, as his driving was top notch. Less twitchy, less crashing...much better. I can't believe the kid beat me. Great work!
