C-lyon, yeah.....thats what I thought....a tad late. If someone on the exec. could contact the members and let them know that the next SC race would be ideal to vote on the updates for the WCICS that would be great.

ok, but who is the exec?
I mean Joe no longer lives here, maybe Ian is it??
here's what the club website says:
Joe Yurick (President)
Michael Medve (Vice President)
Kerry Nevatte (Director/Secretary/Treasurer)
Ian Buchan (Track Director)
Brian Patterson (Race Director)
what are we voting on anyway?

Stu, I think you know what we are voting on......you have participated in the conversations on the WCICS thread.......to re-cap;
Updates for the WCICS;
-No motor limit in mod touring car and to include brushless
-3800mah cell limit
No major changes at all.........Dave brought up a good point about thophies and prizes. I am taking care of the year end trophies; trophies for the top five in each class at the end of the year. I am also working on getting prizes and sponsorship deals with various different companies.

1, no- 10 turn limit benefits everyone to my mind, I can explain to anyone my theories, but too long winded for here.
2, yes, 3300's are just as fast as the latest 3800's, especially when combined with the 10 turn limit, therefore no huge advantage on having the biggest wallet.
Also, we should look to why numbers are dwindling within the WCICS series, as well as our own club.

I believe Ian and Kerry to some extent are the only active executive(Kerry is still taking care of the finances I believe).
We almost need an emergency meeting to get new executive in place(although dont look at me, Ill be in BC this year, I just run the website).
personally I think the 3800 limit or whatevers available at the start of the series for batteries works. I also kind of like the 10 turn limit, but it would be nice to start working brushless in somehow, and if no motor limit is whats needed then maybe there shouldnt be one. Its not like a 7turn vs a 10turn would make most of us any faster anways. Theres what 5-10 people in the province that could actually benefit(laptime wise) from a lower motor limit, most of us will just clip the boards moving that much faster.

there are 3 still on the board, yes joe has left, stu i believe you are still on the board along with ian and myself, ian has been doing alot over the past few months for the club, and a good job at that. i think we should have a meeting towards the end of aug to gear up for the indoor season and come up with a action plan to get things rolling right away, all help would be appreciated. dwayne is taking care og the wcic and i thank him for that ahead of time, there are a few other small commitees that could be formed to boost the club. we still will have our agm in sept, but getting started early will help our numbers alot. please post your thoughts

WOW,i gotta say to a noob all that is way over my head,and for this being the only forum (i think) for not only calgary racers but calgary noobs it seems like theres no way to break in,im nervous about bringing my car (skills)around you guys cause its quite intimitading,rules this and that does any of this apply to nitro touring,and do you guys even take that class seriously?.i just wonder cause pooring a tank of nitro is way more appealing then charging batteries to me.
i dont know im sorry to just go and rant like this but seriously this board does not talk about average joe enough for me to feel like i could ever fit in,just bringing 1 car and hoping it works at that time is a stretch and i think u could bring more attention to the club if there were a more permanent semi pro or pro level track,i think the hobby is getting bigger,just the other day i ran into a guy at a parking lot in the north,he just bought his nitro tc3+ and was looking to run it,unfortunately we were on the same frequency and couldnt run together,and i thought,what about a hobby shop + track some where together,is that too much to ask?
i have no clue....just random ranting.

Road Kill, the recent discussions re rules are about the indoor winter carpet electric series of five races (WCICS) in various cities, four in Alberta plus Regina, which don't involve nitro.
Check www.carcar.ca for the summer schedule which includes nitro.
And there's no reason to be intimidated; racers are generally pretty friendly, helpful and understanding with noobies (and oldbies, fortunately!!).
