Just in case you want to pay way more for less, Hudy is selling tiny rolls of repackaged 3M two sided tape for $20!

$5 at Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Staples, etc.

hello members

met with the HSC today for a couple of hours to review various topics and had the chance to review all the improvements they have been making to the building over the last several weeks. that being said they have relocated the main entrance and will now be the new double doors, they have installed a new alarm system and eliminated the coded door access, so those that have the old security fobs, they no longer work and you can just throw them away and you will now need a key to unlock the front door

I have signed out the ones that will be provided to the club, until I can get them to the right people and they sign for them,if you need anything from the club let me know.

will keep you all updated as more becomes available until then enjoy the off season

CARCAR EXEC.

I made this post in the WCICS thread but the last two paragraphs are definitely more suited for the CARCAR section.

----------------

I've been watching this thread for a bit re: M07. I just bought my son a M05 kit from PM, motor from ATB, etc. He's just getting into the hobby and is just excited to build something with Dad and then show up and turn some laps. He wouldn't benefit from the M07 as most new racers wouldn't. IMHO, the fast guys will always be the fast guys regardless of what they run.

Honestly, whatever kit a new racer shows up with is secondary...as the whole race thing is just intimidating for new people. Maybe putting some effort behind making improvements for new entrants should be explored. Such a huge benefit when the fast guys are welcoming and they sit down with new racers and show them tricks, tips, racing lines, etc. Adopt-a-newbie thing.

An additional thought (speaking as a parent of a young'un), if the goal is trying to get more young racers into the hobby, then make the racing times more family friendly. Racing from 5-10PM on a Friday night is not optimal for younger drivers. They're tired from the full week of school, sports, etc. Why not race on Saturdays from 12-5? Or do regular races on Friday nights but have family fun runs on Saturdays. Sunday's for NFL football.

we are hoping to have a full schedule out for the end of august, we are working on it right now.

There will be sunday racing this year in addition to the Friday night regular schedule to give more racing opportunities for friends and families, more to come shortly with what classes ect will be on what days.

look forward to seeing both new and old faces and stay tuned to this and our facebook page

thanks all

Usually we are limited by the Calgary Corperate Challenge using the entire club. We have setup after their weekend at the end of September in the past. Hopefully his year might be different.

FWIW it looks like horse shoes end on Sept 13th. Not sure if CCC plans on using the facilty past those planned dates.
