4wd is a fun class, just a bit high maintenance. Keep in mind, there is rarely a class, but RB will let you run with the Mod 2wd class usually.

4w buggy is awesome, fragile but awesome.
It's kinda what makes 1/8 scale so great, a 4w buggy that's hard to break.

When the 1/10 4w buggys become more durable like the 1/8 scales, the class will be flooded! (hint, hint TLR guys, get a 22 based 4w done!)

That is one of the draws of 4wd SC. Most of the trucks out right now are pretty durable. Lots of guys like the ability to make contact in that class as well!

I'll be out there sunday to check out some races. I like the short course trucks, especially the 4wd mod class. As for 8th scale electric....not bad but i may stick to 1/10 scale for now. hopefully enough people will come on a regular basis to run 1/10 4wd buggies, it looks like a fun class.

They are changing the track this Sunday after racing. The first race on the new layout will be Wednesday.

Hi everybody,
Today as you may know is Friday and we all know what that means, Porkey's Pizza, RC Cars, and Fill 'em up Fridays. Pay for one class race as many as you'd like for no extra cost!

hey guys..i just got into a 2wd buggy and i had planned on racing stock class at first,,i noticed in the results that there was only one race of 2wd buggys, so i figured the mod buggys were thrown in with them or vise versa..i have kinda got my gearing figured for non timing set up ,but if i am gonna be racing with everyone boosted/mod motors i would want to figure out the right gear ratio for it to be fun,.are most people boosting them? thnks ..see ya this weekend

It depends on the race day but typically there is a Mod and a Stock class at OCRC. If turnout is light they will be combined though.

Stock rules at OCRC allow boosting 17.5 or NT 13.5. They really don't have a 17.5 NT class there. They layouts are typicaly friendly to NT 17.5 though so depending on your skill level the extra speed from boosting may or may not actually help. Yeah there will be faster buggies out there but they will need to be able to control them!

thnks alot for the answers.i think id like to add just a lil bit of boost but maybe.i can play with gearing a little more(seems to flatten out a lil early goin down the straight)..casper i am pretty sure i saw ur name on my hotwire program for esc set up sheets..i was curious ..is there sort of a "ratio" (give or take) that could be followed as to what gearing changes need to me made as you add boost.I hear that as i add boost i need to drop pinion to protect overheating and obviously you still have to watch your temps..but in regards to tekin is there like a drop a certain amount of teeth for every increment of boost added ratio..hope this isnt to stupid of a question and i hope its not off topic..its DIRECTLY related to OCRC thnks alot

I did not find small amounts of boost to help the stock motor much in my testing. I only found gains when I started going above 40-45 boost. If you want to run boost go with my tekin setup. Otherwise I would just geat the NT motor as high as it will go. I did not notice much in the middle ground with running low boost with a LOT of testing in stock. Kind of an all or nothing type of thing IMO.
