So, what happened to the race program? Lack of participation? No race director?

No nothing like that, bit of a perfect storm. With Matt he was the dedicated track maint guy that built and maintained the track and took many cars to the ankles doing so lolThe track in the last 2 yrs was better than it ever was before. Not that Guzzy and the other guys that ran it before didn't do a good job they never has a full time track guy and it showed. One of the owners of Peg thought Matt`s time could be better spent cleaning bathrooms and being the janitor was better than just maintaining the track
Matt thought otherwise and left.Along comes JBRL touring series and they sugared the track to give it traction without having to water .Jbrl rolls outa town and BAM !Local racers are left with a track that resembles sand paper. When the hard surface began to break thru and rut the track became very un Fun for a lot of people that could not afford two run tires.Alot of people have also slowed their attendance, me as well because my class died, when Rudy left I had no one to race LOL!The program takes too long in some people`s opinion but a steady dose of water and sweeping make that( night) traction in- sane!!One of the funnest places to race with the best crew of locals very fun !!

Ah, got it. They wanted to make him clean bathrooms? That really does sound like Pegasus, alright.

Yeah they did. Kind of dissapointed as well. The track was so awesome last year (actually I always enjoyed Pegasus for JBRL events) but the sugared.

Oh well.

It's sad to see it like this. I have great memories of Peg. I had hopes of getting to race there again sometime but it looks like it's been pretty much abandoned by racers.

What would it take to get this track back up to par? I don't mind donating time at all to help out. I am about 15 min from the track and really liked running on it. I know how to run tractors and bobcats if that helps. I just don't know how to design the track lol. Who would I have to talk to so I could go over and help out there? I would be free fri-sun to help out. I used to go every wed night with my cars but then my job is now 2hrs away from home and don't get home till 6-630. Now I can show those days and at least get a few hours in those nights.

So if anyone from peg could pm me and we can talk about this please do so! I am more then willing to help!
