I can't believe anyone would post that it's not that bad and you can use a tool to press the button. It wasn't disclosed in the original FS post and that is the reason why the buyer is upset. This is why a seller should take all necessary steps to disclose anything that may even be a remote possibility that a buyer would take issue with it. It's your duty as a seller to cover everything to protect yourself.

To add to the car analogy, the scraped up and bare wires along with the missing programming button would be like buying a car with the positive cable of the battery exposed and the shifter missing. Sure it may run and drive but if you can't shift the gears you might as well leave it in the driveway and hope the bare wire doesn't short out and set the car on fire.

Please don't get me wrong, I do not agree with what the seller did/is doing, but just throwing it out there that there are ESC's that require something other then the use of a finger to program, and that from a functionality standpoint, the ESC might work. As the switch without the cover looks just like the one on my Speed Passion, I would have never known it was missing something.

Honestly, if LRP made a tool specifically to push the buttons on their ESC's, I'd probably be the person to buy it. I am OCD like that.

Shouldn't paypal at least credit you?

It should know a negative balance on his end.

Thats correct, it should be. But the guy may be interacting over the phone which could be dragging it out.

If PayPal doesn't credit the funds, buyer protection is garbage then.

They gave you credit without proof of sending it back? That does not sound right. Is it there or just pending your return shipping?

I only ask out of curiosity. I have not had to do a Paypal claim, but always was told this to be the case.

They did not tell me or request me to send it back before refund.

XXXDad isn't the first person I've seen with this situation. Could it be that the seller doesn't communicate or dispute the PP claim? Maybe if you file a claim for an item not being as described and the seller disagrees PP says you must return the item for a refund, but if they don't dispute the charge and you the buyer provide enough information to "prove" your claim they simply figure the seller doesn't care enough to warrant sending it back to them?? I'm not sure.....?

Either way at this point XXXDad is doing the morally right thing and giving the seller the option to get his item back, with some very simple requests to do so. Verifying the return address and being aware that he must sign for it upon arrival.
