I can't believe anyone would post that it's not that bad and you can use a tool to press the button. It wasn't disclosed in the original FS post and that is the reason why the buyer is upset. This is why a seller should take all necessary steps to disclose anything that may even be a remote possibility that a buyer would take issue with it. It's your duty as a seller to cover everything to protect yourself.
To add to the car analogy, the scraped up and bare wires along with the missing programming button would be like buying a car with the positive cable of the battery exposed and the shifter missing. Sure it may run and drive but if you can't shift the gears you might as well leave it in the driveway and hope the bare wire doesn't short out and set the car on fire.

Honestly, if LRP made a tool specifically to push the buttons on their ESC's, I'd probably be the person to buy it. I am OCD like that.

XXXDad isn't the first person I've seen with this situation. Could it be that the seller doesn't communicate or dispute the PP claim? Maybe if you file a claim for an item not being as described and the seller disagrees PP says you must return the item for a refund, but if they don't dispute the charge and you the buyer provide enough information to "prove" your claim they simply figure the seller doesn't care enough to warrant sending it back to them?? I'm not sure.....?
Either way at this point XXXDad is doing the morally right thing and giving the seller the option to get his item back, with some very simple requests to do so. Verifying the return address and being aware that he must sign for it upon arrival.
