I have some really cool Chrome truck wheels and tyres ready for next week, and i completely agree that truck and truggy class should have some specific rules to keep within the spirit of truck racing , I hope this wont cause segregation in future as the new hybrid Truggy has a lot of peoples noses out of joint because of the obvious handling and weight advantage ... I think if we concentrate on what Kev said "So all is well and lets have fun" thats exactly what will happen..

truck based tyres would be in fairness. the foamies that some run are the imex foam tyres for a t-maxx so yes they are truck tyres. Not basing this on tread but rim size(buggy tyres give lower cg and better handling) so any truck rim with any type of tyre on it and mark won't be leaving my log in on the comp again

I balance EVERYTHING that i can...it makes a huge difference to performance, ware and tear.

hi mike, can i ask how is it possible to balance a crank? with half the crank not perfectly circular, how is it possible to balance the part where there is no metal? coz if you spin any stock crank on a bearing you can feel the crank is unbalanced. i suppose the best you can really do is to make it not more unblanced than stock?

Well they are both pretty well performing engines .. Its a personal preference after that..

OS 18 is better on torque over the 12 but the 12 is more economical.. imo

Either way ill be happy to help you out !

The OS 18 is a very very torquey and powerful engine....if your car has the drivetrain to be able to handle the power its making.
I was helping a guy out a few months ago who was running one of these in his car, and the standard 2 shoe clutch just couldnt get the power to the ground....it was slipping rather badly with all the power this engine was making.
If youre gonna run the OS18.......I`d recommend its with either a centax or a 3 shoe clutch.
Cheers

hi mark i;m not running the truck, i'm in open pan. Its one of the bosses running in truck.

the rules for truck were made when i was on the committee about 18 mths ago. As far as i can remember the rules were truck wheels(tyres open)/body for truck class. Others were also under this opinion but since looking into the rules i guess they left the truck wheels out . i'm sure this will be in the rules for next championship.
just clearing things up

Looking at the pics of your truck it will be fine now. Truck body & wheels has always been the rule. A simple typo was the problem. Should be a good championship, you just need to hope Empty doesnt do a conversion on the 777
