Tom is 100% correct. You will need to at least use a hair dryer for about ten tanks. My TZ is still tight when it is cold and it has had about 20 tanks though it.

Agreed. I used the hairdryer for perhaps the first 5 tanks or so on a new TZ. I also swapped out the 12v battery for two stick packs to give the starter box a bit more kick.

I still need to use a hex driver to turn it past TDC when the motor is cold as it nips up an the starter box wheel just smokes up on the fly wheel.

Mine started once yesterday without any help but it didn't last long, then got it running tonight using the hairdryer (2000 watt - my missus and RC finally find common ground) before my gel cell and ignitor battery simultaneously died. It's feeling a little looser now despite not seeing a full tank yet and hopefully I'll be able to run the rest of the break in tanks before the moorebank meet on Sunday

I was at my mums last night and her hairdryer was ballistic... i had it on for a minute or so then put my finger on the heat sink to see if it was warm and it burnt the shit out of my hand. I heard something sizzling too, I think it might have been the air filter oil

Needless to say the TZ kicked over without issue after that
