Here is another interesting bit of info.. This may help you with the quiz

The most rust capable metals are steel and iron . Rust is a chemichal reaction to moisture genrally called Iron Oxide .. contrary to popular belief Acid or acidity is the least of the catalysts to induce rust . Moisture is the more capable. Salt is the most.

Here is another interesting question, When a magnetic metal such as iron rotates quickly creating friction and in a semi acidic conductor fluid what would you expect to eminate from this mechanism ?

close , it becomes an electro magnet ! giving off a field , and when you add a glow ignitor to the top of this device it then transmits the field to near by antenna. the glow ignitor also adds to the power of the radiation. once removed the pulse supplied by the motor isnt strong enough to affect the radio gear.

or sopmething like that .. my head hurts too. lol

i've been in the nitro racing offroad scene for 15 years and now i'm wondering why massive has come back with excuses of why an engine's crankshaft will go rusty. its only gone rusty since using massive fuel. it never went rusty while i was using AT fuel or when i was using the original cool power all those years ago. i have always run the engine dry and have always used after run . the only change is that i am now using massive's fuel.
i'm not attacking any one i'm just stating the facts.

10 years ago i could have given you physics and chemistry lesson, now with time and alchol they are all just a faint memory.

Its good to use the brain again.

p.s. a was thinking along the line of electro plating but that is when the brain started to really hurt

.. lol Brad ...

Question , if you make your own fuel and and have been in the scene for 15 years why are you using my fuel ?
And ive given you an experiment to prove to your self the cause without having to take my word for it. other than that i cant help you.
And im not making excuses, im trying to answer your question, ive seen rusty cranks from all brand of motors and from all brands of fuels. its not anything unique to any brand , its a by product of using methanol based fuels. What you will find is cranks will be made from batch to batch with different materials, sometimes one will attract rust more than the other.
Basing your supposed findings on blaming a fuel is not a complete exesizie in determining the real cause. I imagine some of this will go a little over you head but try to read up on it, and if its confusing just re read the information till it sinks in.

I hope this helps your confusion.

Its information readily avalable from the internet.

here is a link that is very helpful.

All engines rust in the internal parts .the reason why they rust is because two disimillar metals are used in the manufacture of engine .

If you guys think that your crank is one type of metal then you are pulling yourselfs .it wouldnt last or be strong enough if it was made of one metal only and not mixed in with something else .

Gold is a good example its too soft on its own and is mixed with other metals to harden it .Thats why they introduced after run oil for a reason to prevent this happening with corrosion in the parts of your engine .it has nothing to do with fuel .

so dont go around slagging manufacturers fuels thats a load of crap.massive mods fuel is just as good as everyone elses fuel out there .

Grow up and get a life guys .ive been on this site for about a week now and all i have noticed is wankers on here who know nothing.sad to see

the benefit with some other dude making fuel is i don;t have to keep bottles of oil, caster, metho and nitro lying around in my house. if i find my engine starts to become lusty, i mean rusty i'l probably change fuels. i don't see how a motor can develop rust if it is run dry and ample afterrun is used though? i won't rule out what you say though, and i'll keep my eye open for it.
