All the big carpet TC races in the US and Europe run rubber on carpet with traction compound. There are specific compounds of rubber of course, but once you get a line down then it's hooked up. Wear is extremely low. Most of these also have control tyre and traction compound.

You get the most consistent conditions for everyone if there is a control traction compound for the venue. A control tyre for TC would be a great idea as well. Unless you're already racing on carpet you're probably going to want new tyres anyway, so nominating a control tyre for the venue straight up would be a big money and time saver for everyone.

Cya Sat arvo, can't wait to turn a wheel on the rug again! For those looking for TC tyres both ride RE32 and REX30LT work well on carpet, but perhaps there's a preferred tyre that RCA have on the shelf?

That's literally down the road from your house Nick !

I'll definitely be visiting the Arena, especially when it's raining and Ryde outdoor race track is wet.

I think a lot of people would have some RE32s around. I think 36s might be a bit hard for carpet, but no doubt you'll still be able to circulate.

Default F1 ?

What about tires for F1? Are they too going to use foam or stick with the rubber tires?
Maybe foams would be better, seeing how they are direct drive, & similar to 12th as for as rear suspension goes, but rubber could be ok if there is a brand/type/compound out there that works on carpet.

Cheers
Rob.

A few dumb questions:-

1) you guys will be using the AMB system - the latest version that supports the RC4 transponders?
> any transponders available for rental?

2) is power supply available at the track

3) do we need to bring our own pit tables?

4) cost per entry (of racing & practice)

thanks.

Ride Tyres work on carpet. That's what we used lat year at AOC Melbourne and Yatabe. Rides are also the controlled tyre at ETS for F1. Pits should work also.

Thanks for the info, I see they are having a foam night as well, so just a choice of which night to race.
