I'll change what I have aready said that the SS system is not allowed at this time for the Challenge Cup until I have writen documention that they can be run in Australia for radio control cars from the ACA they are not allowed. Basicly that if they have a C ticket from the importer then they will be allowed

If you haven't already entered get your entries in or email you details and get your entry in during the last week.
Club tomorrow starts about 9.30 I know there is a few drivers from Sydney go up to pactise so it should a good meeting so don't be late.

yes, you can give your entry form in on Friday. There are no gate passes - as long as we know you are coming, you will be able to get in (there will be a list at the gate).

Just got mine this morning and the receiver has an FCC & CE approval sticker. Can't wait to try it on Saturday practice.

Why is a "C" sticker so important now? You of all people should know that majority of the equipment we use don't even have this "C" sticker on.

I dont know the code inside out, but since the 2.4gig spektrum is a free for use spektrum, then surely any device operating on it doe not need to be approved, wether it be a hand held notebook, Wi Fi or a RC car transmitter?

so true, the system was designed for world wide use. i've been using the system for some time now, with no prob's in relation to other equipment. why in the world would a distributer import an item that is alegal for use in this country + O reilly have been in the game for some time now. in the march issue of racing lines (page 21) there is a story on this.

Just spoke to someone in ACA and he said that Spektrum falls under the class license (spread specktrum devices) in the ACA website which allows there use here in Australia. Getting the "C" approval is another matter as it will cost $$$$ to get the device tested to get the sticker.

I agree I have also spoken to them and there have said the same but in the licence does it start that it can be used for radio control cars, there is the question. Its not a matter of if it is legal because other items use that frequency its a matter of if a club or track gets suried for a car goes out of control and the insurance company that they are with finds out that in the licence it doesn't speciy that it can't be used for RC cars,it is quite possible that it will drop the insurance for the club and then the club and club members will be up for thousands maybe millions of dollars because of the legal case.
