Ok here is a question for you guy's....
When the hell can we come out to Meakin park raceway and race our buggies?

Can my girlfriend and i turn up, pay a fee and race, or do we have to be part of some silly club that just fight's n squavles all the time?

We both have 1\8 scale buggies (gas) and we are very keen to come out and have a go at racing on the jumps n humps etc. We do'not live solely for our buggies as we race V8's regulary at the drags and speedway. In our spare time however we love nothing more than blasting around our home made (flat track) with our nitro buggies racing two or three of our mates (five cars at once is a blast!) After sighting the Meakin park track a few months back i was impressed with what i saw. The problem is it seems to be too hard to get on the track without some sort of money comitment, eg club membership etc as well as limited weekends that the track is actually open for competition OR practise. It would be very convenient for people such as ourselves who would prefer to pay a fee for the use of the track rather than get involved in the political administration side of things. If the rates where fair and worked out on an hourly rate or days\part therof etc we would be interested indeed. Being involved in motor as we are, its clear to us that its very much a "user pay" senario at most venues around Australia when it comes to the competitors.

So tell me when can i race? and how much will it cost me?

HI RUSS
Don't have to join the club if you want to race .
fee for non member is $12 member $7 and if you want to become a member it is $35.
first race will be 2-3 weeks for offroad we will keep everyone posted here.

We look forward to this race meeting!

Next question... Are there any rules that we need to adhere to?

Our rex x pro has been fitted with a force 25 (4 port) engine as we replaced the standard force 21 (8 port) engine after an unfortunate incident involving a loose airfilter mount. The choice to replace the engine with the force 25 was for no real power advantage but simply for the $200 difference in price.

Has anyone got any tips? eg. what gearing should we run? we have 13, 14 or 15 teeth hubs to choose from.

Russ
come down on sunday be a few people down there just having a play at around lunchtime. Ask for Dave Hendricks and he will help you out with set ups or gearing as he has had rex's and hoboa"s and he has used the force motors.
your motor will be right.

Yes squirt we will be there, some friends of mine also have rex's (3 in fact) so i will see if i can talk em into going to the track on Sunday..

Last time my friend went there he plugged the barrier mid way down the straight on his second lap and broke a steer rervo so needless to say he wasnt happy with things, but im sure he would give it another go.
