Chev/Holden will be fine.
I'll be racing a Holden so it won't be an all ford night!!!

Though to be complete - I have a Proline GT40 in storage... now its not the HPI Ford GT and when you compare it to the real cars its definitely based on the '60's GT40 and not the modern Ford GT... pushing the boundaries or no?

Great night of F1 racing last night - a few good laughs as well and that's important.

Thats a bit hard since "storage" is 400km away and won't be getting near there until QLD Titles.
There isn't a lot of web pics left either but I found one.
I also included a picture of the 1968 GT40 which I think its modeled on.
The main areas of difference between a 60's GT40 and modern Ford GT are the extraction vent on the bonnet, the shape of the rear cowl and deck and the body work behind the rear wheel. The proline body, IMO, is modeled more closely to the 1960's GT40. Of course the rear wing is pure RC wank.
Don't stress to much over it. Just occurred to me the other day I still had it while looking for other suitable bodies

Yes, on-road racing at Meakin Park tonight. Gates open around 2-3pm, racing starts I think from 6? (maybe a little earlier). All EP classes.

Guys - we having the new track surface being sorted and laid it brings up a number of other questions.
One big one which seems to be happening more and more (with Facebook and groups and pages) the Logan track is being found more and more by DRIFTERS. Now I understand that we can't stop them 100% but am looking for ways to we can improve our chances of them going elsewhere.
Now it is hard to explain to them that their tyres damage our surface as I have personally had this argument with a number of them on FB already and I know that Shane has experienced then at the track as well.
One we could fence the track before the new re-surfacing however this will bring in the same/similar damage of it being cut if people want to use it.
Does anyone else have any suggestions?
I would be suggesting that we work with them and help them turn the car-park into a usable track for them - line marking in hope that they will not use our track???
I know that this will not be 100% fool proof but looking for suggestions.

Rob, my thoughts are that we try to establish an area that they are encouraged to use. I'd like to try and at least get something mapped out for them at the other end of the carpark. Perhaps some of the drifters on this side of town might be willing to help us come up with an idea as to a layout.
While this is a starting point and I'm sure many would use it, we will still have those who simply won't use it for one reason or another, so maybe the enclosing of the track could be explored with perhaps some involvement from council to seek imput from them about what we are trying to achieve, and who's knows they may even come to the party with both camps.
It's a tough one as no doubt many drifters I'm sure could/would want to get involved in racing and I'm sure we all would like more numbers in the club and at race meets in the future.

That is a good idea Karl. It is something I am looking at and trying to make contact with relevant people.
I know that fencing would be the last resort as it will change the look and feel of our track and viewing.
Maybe we could enlist them and start to help them build their own club which I what I would like to see.
Any suggestions on how we go about this would be appreciated.

Totally agree with you both on this
Given it's almost next to impossible to stop them using it, even if it was fenced, we may be better off sorting out a permanent drift only section that they are free to use whenever. And hopefully this will discourage use of the full track, by encouraging use of a drift specific. Hell... even invite them down to have drift events on the nights we race even, if they want power and lights. Get some guys in to help organise comps for them, charge a small fee, and it could be another good avenue for the club, as there certainly seems to be support for that side of the hobby in the area.
