Hi Guys,
Another fun club night, thanks to everyone that turned up for a play.
I'd just like to say a few words about the trial of the 21.5 motor in Johnson 540.
I'ts become apparent quite quickly that 21.5 is much faster than the 540, at least 1 sec per lap on our track, which has lap times in the 23sec range.
This is fairly consistent with tests done at other tracks around Australia.
I believe it's very important to have an entry level class that's relatively easy to handle & I think that the 21.5's are too quick for this purpose so we will not be continuing the test any further.
I do think that a brushless motor will be used in the 540 class in the future but it will be in the range of 23 - 25 turn equivalent, so for now we'll wait until these are commercially available.
For anyone who has gone out & bought a 21.5 you are welcome to run it in the Stock class or perhaps run it in an F1.
So to all the 540 die-hards, your motors are safe for now but change is coming.
Regards
Martin

Guys the trackside area's where slashed this morning.
A big thank you Rob J Had most of the hard work done before I got there.
Rob knows how too swing a Whipper Snipper.
Guys if you have a blower bring it along it will help move some of the clippings
from the edge of the track
Rain is slowing as it approachs and beenleigh.
Lets hope the mountains will hold it from Logan.
