Judging by this quote from the minutes of the May ORRCA Qld meeting it would appear that Logan were asked to move the date:

Letter of complaint from Lars regarding the date clashing with the NSW IC Nats.
John Hansen advised that AARCMCC would prefer that the date was moved to another weekend.
Secretary to send letter to LCRCCC advising that the date is unsuitable as it conflicts with the
National IC Titles, and that ORRCA would like the date moved backward to the previous
weekend.

Im all for boycotting. The state title means nothing as there tropheys are crap and what do you get out of it?????

At least with Mekin Park if im in the top three at there trophey meet, the trophey will be big enough for mum to use as a pot plant as she is doing now with the Tamworth cup from years ago

I would prefer Mekin to put on there own trophey meet perhaps on the same day and see who stands by Martin and there club. Let ORRCA deal with the lack of drivers at such a big event.

Hi Guys,

I thought I'd put a few of the facts in public view.

1. We, Meakin Park, were offered the ORRCA EP On-Road State Titles & were asked to let ORRCA know which date suited us. We did that in March along with re-arranging both ours & the Off-Road club race calender & chose to run on October 3rd & 4th which is the last weekend of the school holidays & the weekend before Bathurst. It made good sense.

ORRCA have then informed us that AARCMCC didn't want us to run on that weekend beacause there is a Gas race meet on that weekend in another State, so what! What has our ORRCA Title got to do with AARCMCC anyway.

2. Another issue was the qualifying system to be used. We wanted to use the "best single run system" which has been used succesfully here in Qld for many years but once again ORRCA were taking instructions from AARCMCC & we were told that we couldn't do that either.

So rather than bend over & take AARCMCC up our A***S like ORRCA have we chose to say no & now they've taken their bat & ball & gone to play somewhere else. I suppose since they can't beat us at footy they're going to try & take over our RC Cars instead.

I had hoped that the Wynnum club would have been smart enough to see what was happening but it appears not. So good luck with your AARCMCC event, it'll be interesting to see how many drivers turn up.

We will be running a major event on the weekend of October 3rd & 4th, Johnny Hyde is very keen to throw some money at it so we will definately have some nice trophies & prizes on offer.

Regards
Martin Nichols
