Looks like this rubber tyre thing is causing a lot of problems... then again, how would I know? I don't even race!

It's only a problem if you make it one, at least everyone is in the same boat, and will be using the same tires and will have the same amount of sets, and not being limited by their budget. After all, tires are the major part of setup.

How can rubber be too complex. A tire is decided on before the event, you get your sets, you set your car up, and your done. None of this put your foams on, set your car up, run a race, the re check tire diameter, re set ride height, re set droop, re calculate roll out, pretty much every run.

Rubbers means more time to socailise between heats

But everybodies laptime will drop, not just the guy that can't afford new tyres. Correct mee if i'm wrong but the number of sets to be use dis limited as well, so everyone is the same. Just need to look after your tyres, just like real racing, they are supposed to scale touring cars after all, you don;t see Mark Skaife driving on foams.

Default tyre

Having a controlled tyre and limited quantities is where the sport of r/c car racing is headed.just have to get it back on off road

I prefer foams. After running for a few years on rubbers and then changing to foams at the start of the year, I now know I should have changed I long time ago.

Plus, with rubbers there is another thing to spend my money on.... Tire warmers

The club decides what tyres you can use on club meetings anyway, it is the club rules. Only on AARCMCC sanctioned events, such as AARCMCC state or National titles is a rubber control tyre selected 4 months prior to the event.

Unless we can get a club to propose tyre warmers be banned on the grounds of cost control, as they are in the UK for all santioned events.
