Tomorrow night is a race night and with that the SMA F1 Championship returning with Round 8!

After a weeks break to check that everyone's fuel flow meters were legal, we now enter the "Business End" of the series

We have had three different winners over the last three rounds, who is ready to step up and become our 5th race winner??

Hope to see you all there.

I'm not sure on this question, perhaps one of the SMA members could provide an answer.

Cheers
Rob.

thanks for the advice guys, i sold all of my stuff in Auckland. then had a "what the hell am i doing" moment and i'm slowly putting it all together again. 4PKSR just arrived today. I might come down tomorrow night anyway and have a look.

The fwd in blink 21.5 should be fine, i sold my 417X and got a good deal on this, so i'll dabble see how it goes.

One question as I've just moved here i'm still relying on the train / bus service. is it bonnets open charging or do you run a cord down there?

There are plenty of 240V/50Hz outlets on the track fence. Get there early enough and you can politely ask to borrow a club table and set up next to the track

Haven't seen or done that for a long ,long time. Last time I charged batteries from a car battery was when Nicads were still the battery of choice.

That was a fun F1 final last night, so many crashes and so much laughter on the stand. Does anyone know where we all finished???

Dave Mac has his car hooking. I can get my car around easily enough, but Dave is about 1.3 seconds a lap faster! Quicker than all the F1s tonight too.

Default SMA F1 Championship Rnd 7 and Rnd 8 results

David Warner has continued his late run for the SMA F1 title with strong wins in Round 8 and Round 9. Well done David! Keeping him honest though is our new series leader - Rob Wright with two second places seeing him banking another decent point haul.

The pace has really stepped up in the last two weeks amongst all competitors as we close in on the final race and the state titles. The fastest lap has been reduced by nearly half a second with David doing a flat 18 second lap in the Round 8 final. More and more drivers are starting to join the "18 Club" including Kebab, Hiroshi, and Dennis Lueng and it is making for some fantastic close racing. (An updated fastest lap table will be posted later this week)

Round 8:

Round 9:

Pointscore 9/12:

3 rounds to go and it is getting tight at the top. There is nothing between Andrew and Rob, but with David fast approaching, it is still too early to call it!

See you all trackside next week
