Hi
Wondering if SMA has times where individuals can go to simply run their RCs or practice. I'm looking to get myself a 1/8 Nitro (on-road), and the site info seems to imply it's intended for 1/10th so I don't know if it'd be suitable or not. Also wondering if they hold club (casual?) racing as well.
I tried to send a message via the site's contact form but it kept giving me errors, so here I am
If SMA's not suitable for 1/8, could anyone offer any suggestions I could try out instead? SMA's 15mins from where I am.
Thanks all.

Hey
Pretty new to RC outright
But I was wondering if there is any limitation to what motors that can be run besides what turns they are?
(eg roar approved or not)
As i'm just looking at a few motors at the moment as my rc car is currently only a brushed one which im upgrading to brushless atm
Also wondering about what bodies most people are running as well as whether there are any restrictions what bodies are run?
Last question 190mm bodies or 200mm or is that just more based on what chassis one is using?
Thank you

Hi Rob,
Electric onroad is split into three main classes, which use the same chassis and bodies but different turn motors. 21.5t is the entry point, with open modified being the fastest (4.5t/5.0t motors). There are also two other classes (VTA and GT) which use the same chassis, but different bodies and motors as well. GT uses a locked timing 17.5t and sportscar bodies, whilst VTA is muscle car bodies.. but can't for the life of me remember what motor it is! I think 21.5t.
For your situation, I would look to a 21.5t motor, and any 190mm body. Don't worry too much about having the most whiz bang motor, even in 21.5t practise is key to quick lappery. The club will be more than happy to accommodate you coming along and having a crack, gotta start somewhere!

Ok thanks as i was looking at getting the Protoform Camero Z/28 body to go on my car and ill head down to a hobby shop in the next few days to see what motors are available
Also what gearing would be preferable to go with a 21.5 Turn motor?

Hey guys I’ve decided to sell all my gear to help me pay for the 200+ toll notices I owe to the m7. It’s a hard decision and I don’t want to sell it but unfortunately I don’t have much of an option. I know that this page isent a buy/sell page but due to the restrictions I have on my tech account it won’t let me advertise in the buy/sell forum and I’m not sure where else to put it.
Everything i I bought was either good condition 2nd hand or bought brand new from stores in the Sydney region or rcmart. I have purchased all the gear within the last 4 months and haven’t had much track (10-15 times max).
The car chassis I run is a yokomo bd7 16 which is in pretty good condition other than scrapes on the bottom of the chassis. It also has upgraded aluminium extras. Ths car has a much more fleta 21.5 motor, hobbywing v3.1 esc, spectrum dx3s radio and receiver, a scanner servo and a transponder. I also have 4 batteries to go with it aswell.
I also basically have all the gear plus extras to accomodate to racing (eg tools, setup equipment, chargers).
I know that most of you guys already have all the gear to keep you going, but if you know someone who’s interested to get into the hobby please let them know as I’d much rather sell everything in one go.
Im asking 850 for everything which will defiantly help me pay off the 2700 I owe to the m7. So please if you know anyone who wants to buy everything they need to get straight into the hobby please let them know
The best way to contact me would be on 0434594494, I will more than likely respond in minutes. If you or someone you know is interested please message me and I’ll send photos or arrange a time for you to come and inspect for some reason it won’t let me upload photos. Sorry for wasting space on the page guys and if I was able to post in the buy/sell thread I would but I can’t.
I had a great time when I was down there and you guys at SMA have been very helpful and supportive it’s sad to go but sometimes other things take priority.
Thanks Matt

Hi Guys
been thinking off getting back into some rc action i still got my t2 09 with a few 100 in spares new motor 21.5 and battery that i never got to use
tire warmers and setup station and a lot of other misc bits have been collecting dust the past 9 yrs only thing im worried about likly my shock bluders
are gonskie pretty sure i stored it with fluid in there one of the only spares i dont think i do have.
likely just stick to novice or 21.5 if that is still about as i dont wanna be pouring to much cash into things again.
Ps. the car still looks like new :P
