mmm, good day, but I think if there are that many people in future the hour should be split into 3 with VTA/21.5, stock, and mod all getting 20 mins.

I was disappointed to see VTA's in "open practice" acting like they were the only cars on the track, e.g. stopping on the back straight and through the sweeper while other cars (incl. stock and mod) are out trying to practice properly

I think the easiest fix would be to have split rather than open practice fact is VTA and Stock are far slower that Mod VTA is a different mind set all together the two should never meet.. Mod guys today over all had the longer run 45 vs 30 all up between classes perhaps a lesson learned for future "Open" practice.. Good to see tho that constant push for Sundays by VTA and F1 guys means we can do this again ..

By the way Lest We Forget,,,, Thank you Huge big Time Matt for the huge effort today holding it all together mate.. Big Love Hug!!

Craig
I noticed that early on in the open practice. Thats why i attempted to run some split times.

The mod/stock racers got 20minutes just them on the track (the first session it was more like 25minutes).
VTA and Novices got 15minutes
21.5 and F1 15 minutes.
then open practice for 15 or 20 minutes.

It was my first open practice with so many mods and others racing, and some valuable lessons learnt.

On the day the mod/stock guys got the "good end of the stick" with more track time than others.

I agree that each class should get 20minutes each and it was my mistake to try and run stock and mod together. It would mean that each class would need to wait a significant period of time before their next track time.

Guess this is one of the things to be learnt and worked out, especially as we have so many people wanting to race.

Thanks Matt for running the day

Guys Matt is only new to this and is learning very quickly, and is the big reason why Sunday's are getting back on track.

We will look at today, and look at ways to improve in the future

At the end of the day my hat goes off to Matt and others that step up and run race control

See you all track side Tuesday night, and bring a jacket it's getting cold

Regards

Not having a go at Matt, it would not have been a problem if people were circulating normally. I don't think mod/stock should have more track time than anyone else, everyone paid the same so should get the same track time hence my suggestion.

Just follow to a clock, starting on the first minute of the hour. for example 20 mins 17.5, 20 mins stock 20 mins mod. And stick closely to the times. Then every1 knows what time in the hour they are up every hour. Makes life so much easier for car/tyre prep.

Had my first run at SMA yesterday, that track is amazing.

Big thanks to Matt for a smooth day and who was very welcoming.

I liked the idea of split practice sessions and from mine it worked well. Running 21.5 with F1 and separate to VTA was a good idea as they are very different classes.

Some of those mod guys were crazy fast and I preferred to be off the track when they were on it for my sake as much as theirs.

To the owner of the A700 that was damaged.

I'm the person that ran out and took a photo. Just wanted to say sorry your car was damaged. I was taking photos of all the VTA action / smashes and only as I was taking pic I realized the subject was a little more expensive than your average VTA.

It was not my intention to find humour in your loss and photo isn't being posted anywhere.

I heard the bang, and seen the aftermath. What actually happened?
