Just a question on window cutting. I have read the rules about ability to cut side and rear windows with openings not holes. I am still unsure if the rear window is cut open do you have to open the entire rear window? Does the side window rule follow the same ? Any info and pics appreciated

Gday Dave,

Unfortunately I wont be able to make it down tomorrow - nor will Brad, Tony or Clifford... sorry. Hope you have a good day.

I'll see you next weekend for the opening round at Moorebank.

Cheers
Matt

Hi Ace,

I have just read the AARCMCC Large Scale rules and section 6.4.2 States:

"It is not permitted to cut the windscreen out. The side and rear windows may be cut out for cooling. It is not allowed to open them by cutting out only some holes. Also it is not allowed to mould air channels into the side windows to guide air into the interior."

My interpretation of this is that you can't cut holes in any of the windows, they must be cut out as one 'hole'. I suspect there is some flexibility on how large the hole should be... If you don't want to cut the entire rear window out - I reckon you'd be safe if you left 10-20mm border. Keep in mind, this will only matter if you plan to race in a 'sanctioned' event.

Hope this helps.
Cheers
Matt

Default Yay - finally found the coffee shop

Howdy all - as the title says - now i know where all the 5th scale guys post up

Sorry I missed you all on Sunday - have suffered a hand injury and hopefully will be back on the track before the recommended 6-8 week recovery time

Hope it was a good dry day for all - poured rain in the late afternoon in Newcastle.

Cheers
Brad
