Hey.... After cc why don't we run stock for a night with no timing etc and see how much it limits us.. I'd gladly do that for a test.
I agree with roman about stock being as it was, and do have a Novak in my 2wd buggy.
I have gone to mod to illuminate the whole blowing up stuff trying to be quicker. And I have put a motor in the car I can handle (10.5).
Knowing I have old speedies lying around that I can utilize means I could very well go back to stock next year.

And I agree about how annoying it is when u have bought stuff that becomes effectively useless. That's how all the tekin and hobbywing owners will feel if the current proposal gets passed
Mikey,

I don't know where you get that idea, this is the proposal we received from Mav:

"Affiliated Clubs & State Bodies,

After much discussion and some heated debate, the changes to the AARCMCC Stock Class in EP OFR for 2011 have been drafted.

The following points has been put forward for finalisation at the end of October, and implementation in January 2011:

Motor – 17.5 Brushless / 24 deg brushed (no change here).
Control ESC – A list of approved ESCs will be compiled from current and past models. These will be zero timing, non turbo ESCs. The starting list will be released at the beginning of October, and Clubs can submit additional models for approval before January 2011.
Batteries – Lipo & LiFe Batteries from the approved lists with a maximum capacity of 5600 Mah (no change here).
Stock classes to be extended to 6 minute races.

It should also be noted that a shortening of the approved motor list to exclude motors with excessive timing built in to them, was also discussed. This will be debated in the future, and the outcome will be posted forthwith.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those delegates, club committees and the National ‘Stock’ discussion committee for their time, input and views over the past few months. It has been a challenging task to rectify the current anomalies that exist in Stock racing in EP OFR, and although some will find the changes difficult, most agree that the change was imminent.

If you have any queries, issues or input regarding this decision, please feel free to drop me a line."

So why can't we submit the Tekins or Mambas with the Zero Advance profile set?

Nick

BTW looks like it's going to be a big day today so get in early and grab a good spot.

QUOTE]

I was under the impression that as Ryde is an Affiliatted club, that the club can put proposals forward to ARMACC, for review.
If ryde members believe that there are speedies that should be considered, they should speek to the Ryde committee, about putting forward a proposal, witht a list of speedies for review by ARMACC.

That's what I was pointing out, it's a rhetorical question.

I'm being put in my place by these guys who have only raced for a month or two and are putting in very solid runs
no excuse, I fell away in the finals after some very promising qualifiers

I know that, but they help in the straights and also straight line speed.
