nice article tony.
and very good timing.... i can see a mini in my near future.

i think i will be heading to boronia tomorrow night to see some racing and have a closer look.

any suggestions on which of the m05's is the better way to go...
the s spec is looking like the better value as it has most of the option parts that people seem to get anyway.
or just start with the m05 pro and a set of shocks??

cheers
adrian

Thumbs up

Either the MO5 Pro or S-Spec would be good. As you stated the S-Spec is the better value.

You will still require the remainder of the alloy steering system. I am unsure if the rear one degree rear lower arm is really necessary. I hope to have a couple of pictures of my S-Specposted up tomorrow night with extra hopups added.

Later,

Calvin.

thanks calvin
look forward to seeing it.

i think the only thing that has stopped me hitting the buy now button on an s spec is the @#$% factor plating on the chassis
i think if i get one i will be swapping out the plated chassis for plain black
....unless someone can prove to me that it will make it faster

cheers
a

are there any guys from here that race at boronia?

Is the only Tamiya SWB body the original Mini or are there more?

Talking Tamiya ONLY.
I know a lot other brands have swb bodies.

Most of them say either M05S, M05M, M05L, etc or actually mention the wheelbase 210, 225, 239. Off the top of my head, Old style Mini Cooper, Honda S800, Alpine 110, Fiat Abarth TCR.

Extracted from here;

http://rc-mini.net/joomla/index.php?...fits&Itemid=59

OK, with all the different bodyshells out there on the market its almost impossible to work out what fits what. So, we've assembled this listing to give everyone a head start. To the best of our knowledge these are all the bodies currently available that WILL fit an M03.
Please note that there are an awful lot of shells that are the correct wheelbase, but won't fit an M03 because they hit the servo mount. If you reckon we're wrong, please let us know. We're pretty sure on about 98% of the picks, but there are a couple that we could swing either way on. Please note that virtually everything (assuming correct WB) will fit any of the 4WD Minis and or the M01/02.

SWB Bodyshells (210)

Kawada Porsche 356, Kawada Lotus Elan.

However the list is not up to date.

As Sith Lord has said pointed out:

Tamiya SWB also include the Honda S800, Alpine A110, Datsun 280Z.

Not sure of the wheelbase for the Tamiya Mazda RX7.

There are other new mini bodies that have been moulded since the list was made.

Example 225mm MWB

Shun Honda CRZ
ABR VW Sirocco

Regards,

Calvin.

LWB (239mm) according to Tamiya.

http://www.tamiya.com/english/produc..._rx7/index.htm

Rcmart have the body (51451) added to their catalog this week.

Will the Rx-7 body fit the M05 or is the front going to be too low?
