i dont use a tray eaither... for some reason gives cells poor performance, just discharge your pack at 20amps, too 5.4 volts, and leave till next weekend.

Ok so no tray? i will buy another pack instead

i have been storing my battery at full charge, will that also damage it?

won't just leaving the cells at fully discharged damage them?

Hope fully my order comes on friday so i can race and with lots of packs. I am hopefully getting them to send it tomorrow and from what i have heard they come in 2 days from hong kong...if it doesnt come i might use my friends car (the orange one).

man i gotta work in the next holidays to be able to afford all of this.

oh well, only 2 weeks

just store them at 5,4 volts.. charge at 5 amps, 6 amps for big meets.

why do you store them at full charge...

generally after 10 cycles, the packs suffer run from lack of run time and loss of voltage.

but you will be fine unless your running an 8 turn

hey painy u should equalise your cells at least once every 6 runs normally 33s for me and others where i race feel better second run of the day and feel just as good on the third run u get more voltage if u dont equalise but once the packs get way out of balance 6 or (7 runs) the packs start to drop of alot more. but the thing with batteries once u treat them a certain way u always should treat them the same so maybe u can try my suggestion with your next batteries and let me know how they go.

My order is just about ready....hopefully comes by friday!
can't wait....even if i dont race i might come to watch a bit.

So it is worth getting an equaliser?

ill have to get back to you on the stats of my burnt out 33's....gota cycle it when i can be bothered to.

ok.. charging hot batts??? ahhhhhhhhhhh

*) You can run em more than once if you like, as long as you let em cool to room temp (that includes inside, not just outside)

*) from the second run onwards they will lose runtime, but the volatge should still be ok (as long as you have let them cool!)

*) most eq trays will kill you nimh batts because they do not cutout at the exact same voltage on each bank. If you can.. eq after every run or before charging will keep your batts strong.

*) If you really want to maximise your runtime and voltage, you need to discharge you pack down under 1.0 volt at a low rate (1-2 amps) to delete memory just before you charge. no matter what is said.. all cells in rc have memory and the more power you leave in em, the more it will affect their next charge/discharge

i dont agree with discharging packs below 5.4 volts.

i dont care what "worldclass" has told you...

is that 1 volt for the whole pack?

with PayPal can you send money the day that you register?

Is the Top of the line integy equaliser any good?
it can discharge your bats to presets and also below .1 v p cell even to 0 volt.

Cause you are prolly my main comp, i don't care if you don't but my testing (which is limited) has given me about 300mAh boost (discharge) and about 0.02 volt increase across the pack.

has anyone tried storing their packs at 5.4 with a soldered wire between + and negative terminals? aparently its good for stock guys at it raises voltage but lowers runtime

Sorry Dragon..i sounded a bit mean/angry in my post...

i will have to try your method and see for myself..

PS: yeah our results have been verry close recently... but at the same time some good racing has come about

won't that damage it because its shorting it out?

I have heard that,, "dead shorting the packs is good also"

not sure @ what voltage you shuld short them.

Surely you mean discharge each cell under one volt right? not the whole pack > that would be silly. It would hardly charge back up again.

BTW dragon: well done for your cons of 0.12 in the finals at Kambah, thats crazy
