The burger patties are defrosting. What this means is we are highly optimistic about racing tonight. Keep an eye on here or FB for the latest but it's all systems go!

Ok, the latest is there has been some very light sprinkles of rain on and off for part of the day and the track is pretty much dry at the moment. I'm packing the kids and my gear and heading over.

Should be another great evening at EPR tonight. The weather played ball last night and we got through the whole race meet without one rain stoppage, we should be right tonight also.
The latest weather report from the track was dry and clear skies.
Classes today will be 10th Pro, 8th GT and 8th scale. A few of the gas drivers are also bringing their kids and we'll setup a heat of 10.5 SSF for them.
Canteen will be in full swing with burgers for dinner and the usual chocs, drinks and ice-creams. The new Lavazza coffee machine was also getting a workout last night.
Spectators are always welcome and if you've always wanted to try your hand at driving an RC car, come down and we'll arrange a **FREE** drive of our club car.

It's a real shame what's happened up the sunny coast, they had a great track and some great people up there.
Our club is QRCCRA. I'm not sure if you've seen our website? qrccra.org.au or if you follow us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/englandparkraceway/?ref=bookmarks but both those pages are a great source of information about the club.
In answer to your questions,
Yes we have regular races where points are awarded and trophies are presented the end of the season.
On the social side of things apart from socialising at our club meets, we haven't been doing any 'outside of racing' social events, although it's something we'd like to get going.
Fun days are every race meet aren't they?
I'd encourage you to come down this Friday (12-2-16) night for a look. There will be plenty of people to show you around and answer any questions you might have. If you bring your car, you might like to have a quick drive in our RWYB (Run What Ya Brung) class just to get a feel of the track.
Hope to see you there.
Cheers

For Kenny, thanks a lot for the loan of the prop balancer and soldering iron, you're a good mate brother!

Has carbon bits and some bling bling... but where to you put the fuel? Found this to be the problem with the B5M, well apart from just not being about to get around the track.

RCNITRONUT,
As a new member at the club since November 2015, I can say it’s very welcoming and extremely fun. I joined the club for the excitement of racing cars and a chat with others, and just to enjoy the social side of it.
Everyone is easy to chat to, very helpful and willing to lend a hand where need be. I mainly run the Friday night class with the Stock Gas Tourer, as it’s hard to get out for a whole day to run Pro 1/10, or dabble with my 1/8th on a weekend with a young family to think of. I’m absolutely enjoying the atmosphere every time. I have taken my 6year old boy and he loves it also. He often reminds me about the fuel stop that he did, where some of the members got him in the pits and topped the care up for him up. This was just on a weekend test day and everyone pitched in and helped or made people welcome.
I am looking forward to this Friday nights racing.
It’s a great way for me to relax after a long week at work.

No worries. I'm not familiar with what type of car you usually race ie. Electric or IC? Just as another option we have our electric guys racing on Sunday start time is 10am. Classes are 13.5, mod, EURO stock 12th scale and F1.

Andrew, if you like soldering and when you're not soldering trying to get heat shrink on and 6 servo channels on ribbon, four speedies on ribbon, twelve motor supply and eight feeds. Then the matter of lights. power managment and make it balance, the build is a challenge and somewhat exciting, like the first time we built a car.
It's a different kettle of fish once it's built, there's no "on track" tuning to speak of, it's either right or you'll get a face full of buzzing props. It's the future of RC shops so Luke has to learn about it, sooner the better.
