Hey matty

its up to you to experiment , i can suggest what some people use but it may not work for your set up. It sounds like you have a good set up as is from our convo yesterday .

We had our clubs 3 hour Enduro race on Sunday - what a hoot !!
It was hot and dry, with the track being super dusty.
Our team (Team X-Ray-ted) finished a ways down the honours list, but the 4 of us had a great day. We had to bow to more experianced and better drivers, plus a track that definitly suited the truggy teams a lot more than the buggy teams. It got very dusty and bumpy, making the buggy a bit of a handfull over the last couple of hours.
For an Enduro event it was an incredibly close finish. 1st and 2nd place were seperated by only 20 seconds after 3 hours and 214 laps of racing - incredible.
Highlights for me were the fact that the GX-3R in my buggy performed flawlessly all day, never missing a beat. Also, two of the truggies in the winning team were powered by GX-5R's ;)

this weekend for me was nothing but dramas the first to races were faultless then the following 4 nothing but dramas oh well until 2010 will be a hoot :D

Well in a nightmare 2 week holiday visiting the family up in Sydney, which involved the Navarra overheating every time i went up a hill on the drive from Melb to Syd.... head had to be skimmed, 5 valves replaced, new radiatior, new alternator belt, new thermostat...... lots of fun!

I did however get a chance to pull apart the 7 port after my troubles with the carb coming loose a while back, turns out i put the bolt in on the wrong side, as i had reassembled it in a rush so that the motor wasnt sitting open  my bad, wont be doing that again lol.
Got that sorted and took it to the track, loving the car and the motor! Ran really well, but i had to hold back on the tuning as the motor is still a few litres off being able to put a race tune on it. Still heaps of power and speed, so should go like a rocket once it loosens up. Looking forward to getting some more track time hopefully sooner rather than later.

Jeez - bummer with the Navarra, but all smiles with the 7 Port. Just wait until it loosens up fully. You will be a happy camper :)

Dont worry i was very happy with it, and im really looking forward to it loosening up, whether i can even make use of the power will be another story . Might go to a smaller carb restrictor (stock one atm) once it loosens fully.

6.5 restrictor and you will have power to burn plus good economy.
3 x 1.1mm springs or 2 x 1.1mm and 1 x 1mm springs and 3 x alloys - nice combo on the 7 Port.

CMB21 12-21-2009 05:43 PM

What springs come stock with an RC8B??? lol well whatever they are thats what i have on, and the metal shoes that come in the kit.

Will need to check up on the clutch, and i will definately try the 6.5mm restrictor as suggested. :)

Must just make sure i dont have the carb screw in the wrong :p such an idiot lol

mattwoodcraft 12-22-2009 12:38 AM
