Yeah depends on the size of the drips i guess .. lol Id use about 2 to 3 ml
The most important thing is to run the fuel out at the end of day as in the 101 after run manual. I cant emphasise enough how important it is to do this. Your bearings will last much longer. Mc Cheers ~ ! |
Today I was looking at the Massive Mods site, and I noticed you will be selling Go glow plugs sometime in Feb, I currently use the OS P3 turbo plug, I take it the T3 will be the equivalent, am I right? how will it compare to the P3 as far as life expectancy and price?
For those that haven't seen them: http://go-engine.com/images/newprodu..._engine_08.jpg http://go-engine.com/images/newprodu...ngine_08-1.jpg |
Hey NRG
The factory have tested the plug and are extremely happy with its performance and longevity. They do however have one more stage of testing that isnt complete so the Turbo plugs wont be avail till later in Feb, we have the #4 standard coming in and i have tested that one and i have to say its one damn nice plug. Felt good and longevity is good too, 3 litres of testing on it so far and its in good shape. plug longevity however greatly depends on a decent tune. if you run a good tune the plug should last at least 5 litres of hard running before it needs replacing . MM  |
sounds good! cant wait

MM when will the new bio fuel becomeing to the USA and who will be the dealers.
thanks |
As soon as we finish testing it . Im just a few tweaks away from making it almost fool proof.

Being second hand you most likely have a Gen4 model motor which will most likely have the long LSN fitted. You can tell by removing the air filter and looking down the carb throat. Slowely open the throttle slide all the way to wide open throttle. If you have the long LSN it will remain in the spray bar as you open the throttle all the way up to fully open. At full throttle the LSN will still be just inside the spray bar. If you have the short LSN, the needle will pull out of the spray bar somewhere between half to full throttle or maybe a little earlier. The short needle has a rounded "bullnose" tip and the long LSN has a thin taper that finishes in a sharp point. Short LSN will tune just like the Rossi carb with a few turns in on the HSN. The long LSN requires that the HSN needle be set at flush or up to a max of half a turn in from flush. Leave it there and tune the motor with the LSN from here. LSN will end up around 2.5 to 3 turns in from flush at race tune. You need to leave the HSN set rich because of the fact that the LSN needle stays in the spray bar right up to full throttle, therefor requiring a larger fuel flow to let enough fuel through to the motor at wide open throttle. Start with the HSN flush and if it is a little blubbery at full throttle just come in 1/16 of a turn at a time to eliminate this. Remember you shouldn't need to go any further in on the HSN than half a turn. It is also really important with the long LSN carbs to have the correct idle gap of .7 to 1mm set before you start tuning. The new replacement LSN needles now available are an intermediate length needle (between the older short and more recent long LSN's). These tune like a normal carb with around 2 turns in on the HSN depending on pipe and fuel etc. If you have any problems just post here and someone will be able to help you out for sure. |

5 Port - Massive bottom end, good mid and top. Best suited to truggy, but can be run in buggy with appropriate clutch shoes, springs and pipe. Best run with 0801 pipe and shorter 2047 header in a buggy. 7 Port - Good bottom end, excellent mid and massive top end. IMO the best choice for buggy. Best run with 2047 pipe and longer 0801 header in a buggy. 3 Port R - Nippy all round. Some favour the 3 Port in a buggy because it has a very linear power band. Have heard varying reports though. Best run with 0801 Pipe and header. I would go for the 7 Port, but that is only my personel preference (and what I mainly run in my buggy). The beauty of the 7 Port is you can alter the power band with different pipe combinations to suit a short tight track or a long flowing track. The other two motors (in standard un-modded form) don't really have enough top end to allow you the freedom to do this as well. |
Thanks
Grizz1,
Thanks for your time and effort in the post. It really explain sand will get back to you. Just come back from my first race lol - dismall but hey, you have to start at the bottom Before qualifiers it was running pretty good I thought but was very concerned at seeing fuel spitting out of exhaust (only just see it but could feel it - almost like spray can) It was also idling high so that tip you gave me is awesome is that 1mm in from flush? - stupid question but want to make notes lol) Anwway I had it leaned out too much when i was racing and came into pits and guy next to my mate (newbie as well) said motor was far too hot and richened it up. Hoep I havent damaged it too much. I had read alot of posts and got confused but this gives me a basis to satrt, so thatnks again, greatly appreciated :) |
so the combo deal that massivemods.com.au have goin on wod b ok then?
