In most cases it is one motor. I remember there were people complaining about killing their handout silver can motor during the qualifying rounds at the last Vics, to which they were told "don't over gear it then".

So be nice to your motor, as it is the only one you'll get

That is spot on guys. 1 motor and 1 only. You need to make it last, it is only 9 races and that is for those who make it to the A finals. You will just have to make sure you don't overgear it.

I thought that the general consensus on th BL threads was that a 19t was close to a 10.5t BL. The 5800 is an 8.5t BL.

I wonder how many 19t b'd are going to make the A final...

We've found the 19t brushed and SS5800 motors to be a close match down here at the TFTR track in Melbourne. The brushed motors do seem to have a little bit more punch coming out of the corners while the brushless has a bit more top end down a long straight.

We have to find someway for the two Bens to be flagged as having illegal motors

Ok then, Does that mean that either of the novak 8.5t BL motors will be legal?

1. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFPW1&P=7
2. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRHT9&P=7

Also, are esc's open or does it have to be a Novak esc?

Thanks,

Pete

Hi PeteB

Yes the 5800 and Novaks new 8.5 are the same wind motors, the new 8.5
has the sintered rotor in it already where as the 5800 doesn't have the sintered rotor.

There is no difference in performance between the two so it will be ok to run,
remember 19t,5800 brushless class is only a demo class for this years Vic's.

Another question about 19t:

With the body, what can we run? Lola, TC, GT, etc....
