Hello all,
I have a 3D that I had to send back to have a new case installed. I noticed a few hair line cracks around the wheel and did not think much of it until they grew and spread. I thought that this might be isolated case with me having a bad case but, last night it happened to a freind that I race with, not only did his crack his wheel stops broke allowing the wheel to spin 180 D. I have also talked to (3) others that have had the same problem. My question is why, and do we need to worry about this all the time? I am a full blown racer and not being able to race due to a problem like this is VERY upsetting.

Hey Tres,
Yes they appear to be the same in color. We all bought the radio's around the same time, mine started cracking first, then one of my freind's steering stop broke a month ago. Then last night my other freinds broke showing cracks the same as mine.
I loved the radio B-4 these issues
Thanks for the reply.
Kevin
PS: How did you do at the NORRCA's at CRCRC (that is my local track)

I had the same problem back when i was running a Lynx AM. For me, it happened when i was turning too hard, lock to lock.
I never had the problem with my 3D though.
I had a couple different 3D's, both the Charcoal case, and the original dark black case..

Can you send me some pics of the radio?
Wasn't good at the Norrca race...
Hard to race when you can't see across the track..
I was sick all weekend with a cold and allergies..
CRCRC puts on a great race......
Pete built a good, but tough track....

The track is for sure a task to get around, sorry to hear about your bad luck. I would love to send you a pic however it should be at Hitec right now I sent it back on Monday. I will have my friend take a pic of his "CRACK" (the one on his radio LOL). Again thanks for the reply.

Tres - Whats the approx. price of a Lynx AM case?
My old Lynx is just sitting around, I've wanted to sell it, but I have a feeling that a new case is worth more than the radio itself...
One of the steering stops busted off a couple years back, and I haven't used it since.

I think you may be right on the cost/value part of the radio though.

Yeah, It's a bummer, It's still in great shape, other than the steering stop.

Hello all,
I thought I would give the good news that the staff at Hitec was able to get my radio fixed and out in record time. Although I had to by a new system to keep from missing races, I thought it was a big + that they hussled to get it fixed. Thanks to all that replied.
