Default reciever question

Gary: I know this may sound stupid , I don't use the 3 rd channel on the Lynx 3d, I just bought a novak xxtra receiver and love it!!!!! My question is, I race at a local track with the new amb system that has no bat. source, so I bought a connector just for a power souce for the amb that I plugged into my 3rd channel, now can I just plug my charger into the connector to charge receiver bats.? Or do I still need to plug direct into my bat?, it would make it alittle easier if I could just plug into the connector. Thanks: BB

No you won't be able to do that without risking damage to the Rx. What will happen is that you will be applying power to the Rx and all of the servos will get juice. Your switch for power should have had an extra jack on it where you can plug your charger into, so when you have the switch in the off position you won't send power to the Rx, but to the Rx battery. If I'm not making sense to ya let me know and I'll see if I can find a pic to post describing what I am talking about. TTYL.

Gary my Jr 737`s are about 4 years old an I think one is starting to give up ..

So I`m in the market for new servo`s....

I got to check out one of your mos fet servo`s in a buddy`s truck ,it made some funny sounds ,but the guy swears by it...

I wonder what you would recommend to me for my racing ?? (off-road & on-road sedan)

Wild Cherry:

I'm not Gary, but, maybe I can help also....

If you can do it, go digital....

I use the HS-5925 & HS-5945's......

They work great....

Yes, they make beep sound, but that is normal...

It's the sound of accuracy......

check out:

http://www.hitecrcd.com/Catalog/Servos/Servo_4.htm

But, it depends upon your application somewhat...

I use the HS-5925 in my XXX & XX4..
and the HS-5945 in my XXXT and T-Maxx...

If you want a more economical servo check out the 6xx's series....

Hope this helps....

Yeah, what he said, LOL. I use the 5925 for steering in all of my vehicles except my 1/8th. I like the fast response time. In the 1/8th I use a 5945, all that torque has never failed to move those tires. If those servos are a little pricey for you you can look into our 5625, which is high speed, or our 5645 which is the high Torque model. The main difference between the 6 and 9 series is the motor that they use. The 6 series uses a 3 pole motor while the 9's use a coreless. If you have any more ?? fire away, TTYL.

I stripped the gears on my HS-60. Are replacement metal gears available? And if so, where?

I replaced the servo with a HS-81, but the smaller HS-60 allowed me to modify a servo post and mount it to the chassis of my micro.

farn:

Yes, the gear set is available.

You need Hitec part# 56312

Try your LHS first, if they don't have or can't get them:

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXN693&P=7

They show in stock.....

Hope this helps..

Thanks, but I was looking for metal replacements. Otherwise, I'll have the same stripping problem.

I should read closer...lol

To get into metal gears, you would need HS-80MG or 81MG.

Which are not super micro but, sub micro servos.......

Have you tried to put the gears from the hs-80 into the hs-60?

Gary or Mike would know more on these servos as I don't use them.
