jaejw1,

Unfortunately you will have to send your unit back to Novak for repair/replacement. Seems to be a problem with the sensor. One of my buddies at the track last week had the exact same issue with a brand new unit, he was . Novak has been great so far with any issues that have popped up and I commend them.

AE Racer. You are correct that the GTB has a lower internal resistance. I am curently running the Velocity GTB 5.5 in my 2wd Losi BK2. I also own the SS5800. If you have the cash buy the system, the Velocity will impress you. You can dial in drag brake to slow the car down for corners, which was a HUGE + from the SS system. Novak doesn't recommend it, but I had to remove the fan because the blades were breaking off from roll-overs. You can copy your settings over from a GTX profile, although I haven't had to do it yet. The ESC is bigger than the GTX, but you mentioned size and weight wasn't an issue. If you buy it, you will be impressed, I have.

These companies would be smart to put up a dealer credit/service program for the first 8 weeks of a new product launch. It goes like this: Dealer replaces these units at their discretion and Novak guarantees warranty or credit back to the dealer. As long as the dealer is careful they can do away with the wait for send backs. The dealer could also take in more product than they normally would to cover these replacements and then after the 8 week period they could return them to the manufacturer (sealed in the shrink wrap so that the manufacturer could re sell them) for credit or opt to keep them if the product is selling well. Everybody wins.
What do you guys think?

Default not again.......

Hey guys, I had a lot of problems with the sphere/neo combo.

I ordered novak gtb a few days ago because I really think brushless sistems are the future of this hobbie. (besides I can really use more practice time)

Do you think that apart from this little problems of some people in this threat, the GTB is a reliable sistem?????

I don't want to add anything negative about the GTB, but, I did have problems with my first one right out of the box. Probably some sort of sensor issue. However, I sent it back to Novak and had a new one in about a week.

Design-wise, the new GTB has pretty much addressed all the issues of the older SS ESC. There is no reason I can think of (unless you are factory sponsored, or need the power of a 6T brushed) to not run a brushless system now.

It would be nice for Local Hobby Stores to be able to take back and immediately replace bad electronics. It's silly that I should have to deal with sending back a faulty part.

Amen Gordon. If you have the skill to turn the power of a 6t motor into faster lap times then you probably are getting paid to do so already.
