well, received my used one yesterday. Looking forward to putting this together.. Not sure if i want to stay with the SCT3800 or move top a Novak Sc 550 system.

Sup guys.
I need advice picking a motor/ESC combo for this kit. I would like a good mid range balance between useable power and speed. I want cool temps. I don't like pushing my electronics hard. I do plan on taking this on a decent sized 1/10th ~ 1/8th sized track.
I'm thinking a Tekin 8.5 (5300kv) may be good for the motor, but I'm not sure on the ESC. I'd take reliability over performance. I know the the MMP well proven and I hear the Tekin RS is the best performer. My budget isn't huge for this also. Any tips?

You choice of motor is fine,Tekin rs/pro ESC runs hot in this truck,MMP bec suck,Just buy a Tekin r8 ESC and you will never worry about the ESC again..

Yeah after a bit of reading I came to the same conclusion too. RX8 would be the best choice. Although I did opt for the Tekin SC4x 4.5t (4800kv). More torque!
Thanks for your input. I just finished rebuilding my TT. I got a used roller for a sweet deal!

Yeah my motor is coming in friday, I still need to track down a RX8. Maybe I'll buy new but they're on back order at Tower.
Hey is their another body that will fit this kit? When I had my Hyper 12 mini STe I never ran the stock body (fugly as hell!) but rather I made the proline crowd pleazer for the CRT.5 fit. Looked much better. This body too is ugly. Has anyone ever got another to fit?
