I love it! Battle worn cars are the best. My tt-01 last year Ferrari body is scarred, too. It could last another few races, but I chose a light weight Audi R8 LMS body because it has better aerodynamics and is lighter. I don't build them for the shelf!

Question; how do you adjust the camber arms on your car? I cannot get a tool in there, I need to pop them off, adjust, and pop back on. Not what I imagined putting on the turn buckle set.

I use a set up station so I adjust them on the car. I also use a 4 mm wrench I bought from Sears.

Fronts: I remove the body posts which makes it easy.

Rears: are a PITA . The 4mm wrench I use is a bit angled, so I switch back and forth to make 1/4 turn adjustments. Sometimes I need to compress the suspension to get the tip of wrench on turn buckle. A true exercise in futility!

maybe a stupid question but I'm so far unable to find opinions related to this.
I want to get an M chassis, but I don't know whether to go for the M05 or the M06.
(This will be my first on-road car, so far I've only driven off-road 4x4)

I've been checking out the M05 Pro V2 which I can get for 169 euro (around $214), which looks pretty good.

What are the reasons one would pick the M05 over the M06 or vice versa - I get it's FWD vs RWD, but what are the implications ?
And is there more to it than that ?

So what are the reasons for people to buy the rwd M06 over the M05 ?

That's why I initially bought it. I just don't like fwd vehicles.
I had actually converted my M03 to rwd.
I really do enjoy running the M06 though.

I can only speak for my self. I wanted to try something different. I only got the M06 to handle well when I got the right tires.

Basically yes. With an M05 you can barrel down the back straight and turn the wheel and enter the turn, understeer through the turn and make it out. Not much of a challenge. Granted that's not what top M05 drivers do. Nonetheless they're dull!

The M06 you need to be in tune with the car. End result, it will make you a better driver.

I have heard and experienced that the M06 is quicker off the line than M05.
(the M06 motor is over the tires = better grip)
M05 is easier to setup than M06.
Real 1 to 1 scale car racers like the feel of a RWD car.

I have all the mini's except the M05. When I won a M05 I traded it in for a M06. At the time I did not like the M05 construction. With the M05 v2 they changed some of those things that I did not like. Really it is personal preference.

+1. The whole Dutch Tamiya Cup M-Chassis class is made up of M5 and M3 cars, so I got a 6. Just to be weird. Which comes natural to me anyway. I just got the car on the road at 23.00h yesterday, copying Raman's set-up, so I cannot judge the handling yet. I did notice braking is not a good idea...

Did you drive on track or test near home. Also do you plan on using traction compound?

Dutch guy here who just tonight bought an M05 Pro V2.
Where do you put your car on the track ?

@Raman; just outside on the wet brick road. Not the preferred surface, I know, but still it accellerates like mad. Tire prep of any sort is not allowed in the Cup I race.

@Pygmy; I will race all venues of the Tamiya Cup, I have no home track. I hope to do some testing at the Lelystad outdoor track, and the Vianen indoor track. That indoor track will be the only indoor coming season, the first race of the Cup.
