Hey everyone, I purchased the Ae ceramic bearings for my 6.1. Amain said it fit the tc6 and 6.1. Unfortunately the axel bearings do not work. The inner diameter is too big. Did I get a dud set of bearings or are the tc6 axels thicker than the 6.1? If this has been addressed already, I apologize in advance.

Yep there is a difference in the axle sizes between 6 and 6.1,
6.1 has 5x10x4mm and the 6 uses 6x10x3mm
There should be a specific bearing kit for the 6.1 i thought ?

Upon further research I found Acer makes a specific Tc6.1 ceramic bearing kit. The cheaper route for me now is just to buy Tc6 CVDs for my 6.1

If your interested, I have a full set of New CVD's from a TC5 kit (which I believe are the same arms, cvds, etc as the TC6. PM me if your interested.

The 6.1 arms, bearings, CVDs, hubs etc. will not interchange with the TC5, and TC6 (unless you have a fully charged dremel, and some spare time). I know, I tried back when associated was out of stock on spare parts. If you want to change one piece, you have to change them all.

I suggest you get the correct bearings and be done with it. You'll beat your head up against the wall trying to get some of the 5/6 parts to work.

I'm not sure I'd agree with that....when parts were out of stock, I replaced a broken 6.1 C hub, with a TC5 part....which is still on my car now.

Last week, my racing friend broke his TC5 A-arm, and I loaned him a pair of 6.1 A-arms.

That's all I've done as far as parts swapping though.

Some front parts are interchangeable, not the rear. I suppose I should've been more specific..

I use tc6 front c-hubs myself. All I'm saying is be cautious about what suspension parts you try to mix and match. It's not all the same.

I'm thinking about upgrading my tc6.1 to the vertical ballstud bearing caps, now the question is which ones to go for. I'm was more inclined to go for the Reflex Racing ones, as they were the pioneers to introduce the part to the TC6, but the AE and Zeppin parts offer more adjustability.

Which ones would you guys choose and why?

If you run the AE parts you can duplicate the posted AE driver setups exactly.

Is there a difference between tc6 front spindles and tc6.1 spindles?

The 6.1 uses 5x10 bearings which are wider than the 6x10 used in the TC5 & 6. So the steering blocks have deeper counterbores in them. The axles are 1mm smaller in diameter. I did discover that you don't need to replace the entire CVA bone/axle to change to the 6.1 parts. The old TC5/6 CVA "bone" works fine with the new 6.1 axle.

I recently upgraded to the AE ones, reason was the more tuneability

With this upgrade only and moving to the middle hole in the rear i dropped 3 seconds off my quickest heat time, it just made my car feel so much more stable on the limit in the rear, 2 thumbs up from me .

Got a couple questions for my fellow tc6 drivers. They have prolly been disgussed so i apologize in advance. I am curious if anyone has notice which works better, teeth up or down on the belt tensioners? Also, can you notice a real difference with the vertical ballstud mounts or just like them to have more adjustment options which you will prolly never use? thank you

Juho actually wasn't using the vertcal bearing caps at the Reedy Race most recently... and his car seemed to the best among the AE drivers.
