Get some Acer sealed bearings, that should keep the fuzz out pretty well... Or just spray them out with motor spray often, and dont use oil...

Randman, is the Acer bearings metal shielded or teflon shielded? Thanks.

They have a special shield that I have no idea how to spell, it's almost like a perfect molded plastic shield, really good tolerances...

Thanks, Randman. I have to buy some of those. I cleaned my front hub bearings recently and they were clogged with carpet fuzz. I finally just took out the metal shield and cleaned it out. I should've done it before last weekends big two day race here in WA. I could've gained a few tenths. Thanks again for the tips.

trf racer, randman is right on the money. The bearings spins better without the friction the oil is causing. The oil has to be super light to not cause a lot of friction but will still cause friction no matter how light.

KEVIN K:

if i use the 2r in front... aside from removing material from the front bumper, (where you put the droop screw) do i also have to take out material from elsewhere in the bumper?

i notice that the hinge pins might hit the area where you screw in the bumper and the chassis...

thanks

Highway....No I did not have to remove any more material from the bumper...when I cut the droop screws off I just cut the bumper straight where it goes out for the droop screws...do you follow what Im saying? I sill use the screw holes to hold the bumper in place on the chassis....there is no clearance problems there. Hope this helps.

I just did this mod on my car and it is very simple, just cut the tab off that houses the set screw for droop...

KevinK,
Have you ran the metal outdrives? If so what did it do for you?

Thanks,

Kevin

wannabe....I have run them in the front with rubber tires but have yet to really try them with Foam tires....maybe this weekend or next. Once I do I will let you know how it works out. With rubber tires it gave more on power steering so I would think it would do the same but Im not sure that I need that with foams, but its worth a try.

There is usually a trade-off, did you loose any off-power steering??

BTW: I am running rubbers now.....
