Better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak(or in this case type) and remove all doubt.

RCCadet, between the Losi and XRay, which in your opinion do you like better?

I am in the market to get back into electric racing and narrowed my choices. I would like to hear from someone who owns both.

Thanks!

BTW, I can get parts easily for both. Evo2? Should I wait for that?

Both are great cars, I am driving the Losi lately. I did a lot of work to it so I am experimenting with its milled chassis and over/under drive options (one-way in the rear).

Yeah, I would wait for the new XRAY, it supposedly will come out 1st quarter 2003.

Parts for the X-Ray are expensive in SF, CA Dan. The wait is pretty long too if you have to order a specific part. On the other hand, the XXX-S breaks front C hubs like they were free.

You're right about breaking C-hubs. I broke two the during the last race. Very much my fault though, if I had stayed off the boards.

I needed to add a little weight to the front to plant the wheels but it was too late. I had used my spares and finished the remainder of the day with the XRAY.

Yes, very expensive. I don't mind as long as its built tough. The Losi appealed to me until I heard about weak hubs and maybe Losi will fix the problem hopefully. I don't feel like going back to the MR4TC either although it handled nice.

Just looking for a solid car that Delta, Castle, and Sheldons carries parts for.

If you're looking for parts support from those 3 specific stores then you shouldn't get the Xray. Delta, and Sheldon's for sure have none. Castle might unless I'm seeing Serpent stuff.
The alloy (ugh) C hubs seem to cure the breakage on the XXX-S.

I would rate the XRAY second to the Pro2 when durability is concerned. I know the Mission is a tough ride also. Parts are going to fail.

The big complaint in the past with the XRAY was the front hub carriers. Well I was satisfied with that being the only part to fail as few times it did. I have seen on most other models (TC3 and XXX-S) that the energy absobed will usually break the C-Hub which is acceptable under the circumstances. Something has to give. There is a higher frequency of breaks occuring beyond the C-hubs and that is where I become disgruntled.

I like the alu hubs but I had read reports that they bend too easily or the energy from impacts transfer to the arm or hopefully the spindle fails first (less work).
