Black can is cool but I think they don't last as long as the silver can Mabuchi's. I have gone through one black can which lasted up until race 4 of the series. I am now hearing other racers are on their 2nd and 3rd motor. The motors are cheap at 15 bucks but are not lasting as long and can start to get pricey after a third motor. Is there another alternative? Can we go back to the silver can Mabuchi's or a better more reliable 27t motor? This is just my 2cents. I dont know if the rest are feeling the same. Patrick, Bing or Yusuke can you give us your thoughts? Not trying to cause problems just try to help the series to be less expensive and simple. Thanks for reading and can't wait for race 5!

Brushed-HPI's 30 turn motor-more torque than Mabuchi, same rpms. It is an open endbell and u can cut and replace the brushes.
Brushless-21 turn-they adapted this for the HPI Vintage class and is very successful. Most people have brushless...and you can pretty much purchase an ESC for brushless for $50 on Ebay.
THoughts?

Ahhh.....i knew where this was headed.....I'm down for any of the above... I didn't even know HPI made a 30 turn motor...that sounds like a cool setup.... knowing me tho....BL system here I come.
Hey Rev, what is all this stuff you are talking about regarding a new product or whatever? might as well just spill the beans because most people do lurk in this thread esp. ABC'ers in the series. So whats the haps?
Got the PM Rev.....PM'd you back.. I think we are all on the same page

Spoke to Patrick on the phone and he took it as constructive input for the ABC Series...that was my initial thoughts on my post.
Kuya P made me feel guilty talaga o
sorry i dint want to post it right away w/out speaking with Patrick.
But yes it is concerning the black can motor we have been using. at first i thought it was just me, but after speaking to other ABC guys found out we were all having the same issues.

i would like to suggest something on the next series ...so people like, who know who you burning and forcing the motor to work beyond its capability....how about SAME GEAR RATIO ....gear ratio will be determine for every track and will be announced and winner will be tech after the race...just a suggestion

NEXT SERIES
I still like the black can motor for expert. The esc is tiny and the car layout is less cluttered I practiced w/ a 27 turn last weekend and I was kind of all over the place. I don't think my tires can take the heat. They may work better during winter tho...
