Hey, I need to know, is there another spur gear support made for this or am I stuck with the one that comes with it?

The reason I ask is because today I got my order of Robinson spur gears and the found the center hole is too large for the support. Nothing I can't overcome, but it would be nice to have a better fit with a different support.

And, is anyone out there running a spur smaller than 67t 48p?

i think everyone has switched to 64p, its much easier to get the right gear ratio

Well it does my heart good to know that no one has an answer to my question, at least no one that counts.

I will wait for one of the OFNA guys to answer......and 64p is for those who can't get a mesh with 48p.

A little bit salty are we?

If your looking for an answer from one of the OFNA guys, then why don't you call them and get a direct answer......and I think people switch to 64p to have a finer selection of gear ratios not because they can't get a mesh with 48p, not to mention its smoother and quieter. From what I've seen 48p in a touring car is for people that can't properly set mesh or have an abundance of 48p gears they want to use up.

Oh geez, not salty at all, but of the three responses, none addressed my question is what I read, they only stated an opinion, and I know why I use 48p, it kicks the rocks out better without chewing up the teeth due to some of the surfaces we race on.

18 pages and no mention of an alternate spur gear support. If you're too lazy to look through the pages yourself to find an answer to your question then there is nobody to blame (IE no reason to get salty) but yourself.

whoa whoa guys...take it easy.

JC use the one for the abc car it has a better fit for the spur gear...although i am using the stock one from my JL..if you preffer a better balance on the spur then get the abc part.

as for the other guys i think wizard was asking about the Spur HOLDER..not what pitch you guys are using.

and i do agree with wizard, why we use 48 pitch..because we dont just race in a permanent indoor track that is always clean..we also run parking lot race's and there are rocks that get into our gears,so i use a 48 pitch for that reason..and no its not cause we cant mesh well with a 64 or have a lot of 48 pinion's.

48 or 64 it runs the same to me.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
on another note:

This has nothing to do with the other guys..i heard some stuff thats very disturbing to me..i spoke to the guys at ofna to get you in and i expected you to run the car with pride..not as a stepping stone for other manufacturers.

u better have some answers lil homie..you know who you are....i expect an explanation to this.

I totally understand using 48p in parking lot settings and the post probably wouldn't have seemed so salty if it was put that way instead of ''64p is for people that can't get a mesh with 48p'' maybe it should have been along the lines of ''well i race mostly on parking lots so i prefer 48p, does anyone know of a different spur holder?''

either way, back on topic.

Im not familiar with the abc car, where can the parts be found and does anyone happen to have a part number for the other spur holder? with a big 64p spur i can really see the holder being '' out of round '' so to speak and would like to try a holder that might spin a little more true

Hey Ventura, if you can try an O.C. Circut club race.
Charlie and crew do a fine job of track preparation.
It is very clean. You would think you were on a permanent track.
