heyas,

i searched the entire thread of an answer, with no avail, so iam hoping somebody out there has the answer..


I am about 2 get a TB EVO III Graphite center brace and was wondering if it would fit on my tb02 WHICH has a rear brace.....is it possible to have the front/middle/rear brace all on at the same time....or does the middle brace take care of all 3 areas..

don't bother putting EvoIII top deck onto your TB02, it just gets in the way imho

you can screw it to the top of the gearbox brackets ontop of the braces
but the TB02 steering posts are in a different place, no screws on top
of the motormount etc... so its pretty pointless

TB02 tub is longitudinally plenty stiff anyway, doesn't need more

(have never done it even with tons of EvoIII bits lying around)

If you have an EvoIII and want to put a TB02 tub on to the EvoIII, you'll need

-TB02 motor mount
-TB02 steering arms
-TB02 SSG stick that goes below (100% optional bling)
-tub chassis braces
-TB02 spur gears & 0.6mod "AV" pinions

Hi i just bought a Tb 02 and plan to use it mainly for drifting. I was wondering where is a good place to get parts for this and is there other tamiya part that a compatible?. What are some good upgrades to do to the car? Right now i have a Team orion 15t rush motor that i can put on it and some drift tires.

Read a bit earlier in this thread, there are lots of questions people asked similar to yours. I believe most of things that are in the TB Evo chassis' work.

Guys I can't find the Carrera on the Tamiya USA site that was said to be really cheap.

Are the handling characteristics between the TB02 and TT01 are different? It seems that the TB is a much better design as to the steering as well as shock towers. But do you guys find that it needs certain hop ups to drift and/or drive well? I know cars like the TA05 and more expensive belt drive cars are outstanding to drive out of the kit, but how does the TB02 do?

Both cars have a tub style chassis, TB02 is a true tub.
I want to tell you the TA05 is better (because it is!) and that should be the car for you. Both are as durable as your TT01. But if your going to run on the street, the TB02 is the choice.

Hello,
I just bought one of these cars to race in the Trans Am class at our local track.

I've heard that there is a company that makes a motor mount that allows you to mount the motor in a way that it is more conventional then the 4 holes in the stock mount. Can some one help out if they know this company ?

Also what is a good set up for these cars, for that class?

Look on ebay. I found mine on ebay and it is a god send man....BIGTIME..

I also use my TB-02 for the TA class at my local track. Here is a pic of my bad boy..

John I know what you mean... but I don't know anything about the TB 02. Hopefully someone can direct you to a post number or just tell you.

And I love the mustang paint job and rims/tires. They all work extremely well

Johnbrum: As far as hop ups...I have every freeeeeeeekin hop up for the TB-02. EVO III surikarn parts are interchangable with the TB02 including the one way diff. I run surikarn shock towers and all of Tamiya hop ups for the chassis including aluminum steering column. Here is a pic of the hop ups...

But just remember that the diff outputs are pure CRAP. If you are going to run 15T or a brushless setup, get the EVO III diff outdrives. Way better quality but cost about 20.00 a pair.

Also I runnin TRF shocks as well.

Here she is with the lid off..









Full Brushless set up..was fast...real fast. But the diffs busted in both ends and did the upgrade to the EVO III stuff and she has yet to break..
