my project for today Ball bearing steering....
Since the only flaw with this car is the steering slop I thought I would try to tackle it while waiting for my hop-ups to come from stellamodels. The steering arms are very solid and only need tamiya 450 bearings to make them nice and tight. They are the same size used in diffs and f-1 front wheels. The slop comes from the crossbar and the barrel spacers used in it. I took 2 bearings from the belt tensioner of a ta03f Dj. (they fit very snug on a M3 screw). I drilled out the cross bar with a bit that matched the OD of the bearings , 7/16, pressed the bearings in and walla It is now perfect with ZERO slop.
I got the Idea by looking at the carbon cross bar tamiya sells for the tb03 and said to myself....heck, I can modify the plastic one the same way

Note: I did not drill all the way through crossbar. I left a 1mm lip to retain the bearing. The Tamiya carbon one uses flanged bearings.

WOW we socal boys hit the jackpot! I finally got some time to run at our indoor asphalt track.. YIKES! the place is dialed.
high bite indoor asphalt. HUGE track.. id say about 130' straight with curbs (Tamiya USA style).
the graphite tub was PERFECT here. it was more of a shakedown run than testing. i forgot my RCGT tires so i ran an RCGT set up but with RP36s. cant wait to go back. next time im bringing a video camera too...

lol just kidding... im doing some work on my 416we now tightening up some spots here and there. i still need some small parts i get 2morrow by ups and then im ready for saturday soon though my gt entry will be ready and when i say ready i mean when i actually buy one

They are open til racing is over. Last time I was there, I left at 11pm. I love indoor hours

the surface we race on has uber traction. If you step in the right spot your shoe will come off really. Last time I raced I tracton rolled in 80% of the corners. What is the best way to reduce traction rolling? softer springs? LMK what works best for you fellow tb03 racers

For high traction changing your roll centers is a good way to go about reducing chassis roll.
The TB03 comes with a 1mm spacer under the front blocks. Make it 2mm, Youll get less suspension action, the arm will hold up slighty as its more horizontal under corner force, then work the rest of yr setup round there.
I run about 2mm spacers in the front and 1.5 in the rear.
I also like to move the front tyres back a little, it makes the car push a little off power and is so much easier to drive.
