That timing would be a good starting point for 17.5 and 13.5. Mod would need less timing to keep things from burning up.

I had another problem. One of my friend told me, if you adjust the timing via speedo when you use a sensord type motor is ineffective. Is it true?
He said that the speedo timing only effect the sensorless motors...

no, if you are in dual mode, the timming on the esc is taken from the feedback of the motor, careless of sensored or sensorless

I think what they are talking about is the current version of software that does not allow aditional "boost" timing. In the current version the timing slider is not used once you switch to sensored only.

Unless the motor has fixed timing (speedpassion) you can get more timing by running sensored only and turning up the motor timing.

The next version of software does allow an additional timing "boost" for sensored only mode.

Gearing can be a little tricky with higher timing so be careful.

Most of the team guys are running around 35 degrees of timing for the TC classes using 17.5's and 13.5's.

The lower turn the motor the less timing you will need. Check the temps as you add timing. You should be dropping your gearing if you add ANY boost.

Does anyone know what the timing is on the lrp x11 "stock spec" motors?

I ran the 9.5 motor with boost on 16, but the car really lacked overall speed at yesterday's race. (12th scale) I might not be able to set the boost at the track, so knowing the timing on the motor could be usefull.

Now I am sure that I absolutely don't understand this timing issue.
This weekend race was the first time that I ever tried sensored type motor and my new Tekin RS PRO.
In the first heat my car was so slow. Slower than others. I used a Novak 13,5 turn motor. In the first heat the timing setting was the default.
In the second heat I increased the timing to 40, but nothing changed.
In the third heat I increased it to 80 and tried a new FGR (5,2). The motor was still cold the car was a bit faster.
I noticed that the timing has minimal effect to the speed or am I wrong?

Pls. help me how can I increase the speed, what are the optimal settings for a 13,5 turn motor? Or what was my mistake? My problem is that I don't feel the timing effect... The motor was cold however the timing was 80 and the FGR was 5,2.

gfarb: They come set at 12 degrees in the box. If you look at the endbell side of the motor(non pinion side) simply rotate the endbell after loosening the 3 screws and turn it counter clock wise for more timing (24 max) or clockwise for less.

I didn't get a chance to try out the new software this past weekend at our race. I'll be bringing it with me to the Snowbirds though...will there be any Tekin people there should I decide to try and use this as a tuning aid?
