Tamiya mini cooper

www.rcmarket.com.hk certainly has them listed - but they are available only thru pre-order. But that in itself is no certainty they'll be available when they say they will be.

I'm not sure that he has stock at the moment - but again, when i was talking to him earlier this week, he mentioned that there were tires headed to New York, Japan, Hong Kong and all over the place - so postage to Colombia shouldn't be an issue.
Go to his website www.harrisrc.com.au and shoot him an email - he usually replies very very quickly - he'll help you sort it out!

Just received word that the Team Powers tyres are now IN STOCK at Harris.
I think he's sorting through all the pre-orders first and then there will be some left over for other sales I believe. I think (not 100% confirmed yet) that all the 36 pre-mounts are gone, all that is left for sale are limited quantities of 32 pre-mounts and limited quantities of 36's and 32's tyres only.
Better news is that the next lot are already ordered and should be available late next week! Now I might get some for myself!

A light coat of contact cement/rubber cement on each surface that dries before being lightly squeezed together does the trick. Or, if you don't intend to use the insert again, put a light coat on the inside of the tire before putting in the insert- that will hold it in place.
Generally true, but I have had a few double back on themselves, hence the techniques described above.

Hey everyone, have a question about the tire issue. What did everyone do at any of the TCS events that have already passed? I'm assuming that the rule of only Tamiya tires was still in effect, but with the shortage, just curious as to what racers did. We have our race in August, hopefully the issue will be fixed by then, but I'm just nervous.

Well in Memphis we thought we wouldn't have any but Larry told us we would be fine, the friday before the race 40+sets showed up at the host shop. My only problem with them wasn't the timing is was the quality...there is definately a difference in the new Type A's and the old ones.

To the best of my knowledge- and having participated in over 35 TCS events since the first one in 1994- Tamiya has NEVER relaxed their equipment rules. We've had shortages of tires in just about every class from year to year- Mini as well as Sedan- but somehow people manage to find tires or Tamiya gets in a last-minute shipment to the event.
My advice is to 1) ask your LHS what they have in stock or a firm commit from Tamiya to deliver, then 2) contact Tamiya USA & buy from them directly, then 3) go overseas to get what you're looking for, in that order.
Don't get caught waiting- be proactive.

i have never seen any tolerance either, other than a couple years ago in Memphis they were allowing the use of other manufacturers Touring wheels in touring car classes, as the LHS ran out.... so they were allowed to run the other wheels, as long as there were Tamiya tires on them...

Don't know what's going on, but there is a worldwide shortage of mini tires (except tamiya ones). Seems people are buying out the tires ranging from 24-40Rs. I guess they don't care as long as it is a 3rd party mini tire.
