As posted by SG1 on 11/28/12. About page 200; but, also read the many posts that follow over the next several pages. Includes pictures of his car in a couple posts.

Easiest and most consistent WGT setup I have ever driven; but, I have to give the nod to Dumper for the fastest setups ever (usually harder for me to drive consistently at my skill level).

On asphalt, I continue to make changes to the SG1 setup. It is still on my sole remaining LE chassis; but, will be carried over to one of my SE chassis soon.

Hey Bill,

When I went over to the new WGT my setup took a big change.
I ended up with stock front arms, high roll center graphite shims, 1/12 kingpins with .50mm springs, 5* blocks shims back. I still raised the tubes and ran the springs on the links, but ended up with stiffer side springs (new .55mm) and heavier dampening (30k and 50k).

Keep in mind it's for very high bite carpet tracks.

I also had good luck with slightly narrowing the rear tires (from the inside), approx. 3/16" and running the rear tires .04 to .05" larger then the fronts. I typically start at 2.07" rears and 2.02" or 2.03" fronts. By the end of the day when the traction is very high my tires are about .02" smaller all around. I skim them each run.

Wayne,

Thanks for the update. On my asphalt LE, I recently switched to stock front arms with 5* blocks (shims 1 forward/2 back; will try your shimming). Plus, the new #3395 1/10th 8 x .55mm front springs on 1/10th king pins and #1795 tapered .55 springs at the rear. Again, this is for asphalt. Will be transferring the whole setup to my asphalt SE this weekend.

You skim your tires each run??? You are an animal; and, my hero of the week!!!

Headed down to TQ Raceway in SoCal for some testing on their rug next month. Will give it a go there too.

Again...The great thing about your setup is that it is so easy to drive. Something I well take advantage of...LOL And it will certainly be on one of the WGT cars that I take to the IIC.

Cheers!

Bill

So you're under 900 grams? Is that with a 1s or 2s battery?

My LE is about 20-25 grams heavy; but, my two SE's are approximately 10-15 grams light. For the most part, weight variations between cars will depend on: chassis used; front end components; tire sizing; motor; size of wiring; how much paint on body; and, which lipo battery is in the car.

I use ROAR-legal 1S ESCs with a 1S battery pack. No need for a servo pack.

Ran my SE for the first time today. Easily Tq'ed and won the main. I haven't run any 1/10 pan car class in 20 years. That was sure a lot of fun! Unfortunately our local club racing ended tonight. So I need to do a little traveling to run it some more. We got a lot of people interested for next onroad season though so it should be a good class next year.

1s battery, with ko servo, futaba 614 receiver and hobbywing 2.1 speedo. but this was with older batteries (4500 and 5000 ), the new 7000's are likely heavier.

Original CRC Drive Hub need (+bearings):
Diff Spacer CLN4121
Spring Washer CLN4123

I want to upgrade (235 without extensions):

Drive Hub IRS2121 only need IRS527 (+bearings)?

Edited. Answer from irs:
You can use the CRC diff spacer and spring washer.

What is the difference in running the servo in front of the links vs behind them? Just weight balance? Does the car handle differently?

Also what kind of spares or option parts should I keep on hand for my SE?
