hi guys,
i really need so encouragement because this engine is bugging the crap out of me. i don't want to install another engine in my buggy. i have an RB S5 .21 engine. i am having some serious trouble getting the thing to start. i was barely able to start it, and only one tank of gas has been run through it at idle. however, i can't get the engine to start for the second tank at all!!! now i know this is a common problem with new engines, but the piston is constantly getting stuck at TDC!!! which means i have to take the buggy of the starter box and turn over the flywheel with a screw driver manually, which is really annoying. i installed a brand new plug, fuel is still good, although it was bought in early summer(maybe not still good ), and the glow driver has been thoroughly charged(but doesn't hold a very good charge ). so, what should i do before i give up on this thing??? any help would greatly be appreciated.

To reduce the possible number of problems, try changing out your fuel and glow igniter. Its not going to hurt anything and it may solve your problem. Even if it doesn't, its two less things it could possibly be.

Also make sure your starter box has a good charge. Sometimes its the little stupid things we forget. This has happened to me, along with forgetting my radio at home for a race that was out of town. Thanks Hugh, you saved the day.

To avoid plug heater problems, i normally buy 1 with a meter on top of it. With the meter, you can know whether the plug has gone bad or the heater battery is dead by plugging into another glow plug.
Also if you have extra budget, you can have 2 plug heaters. You won't know when you might need it in case the first one has a flat battery due to some unforseen reasons.
Happy Racing !!!

Another thing to add, if you need to maintain or remain the plug heater on the glow plug to maintain the engine idling and when you remove the plug heater, the engine immediately dies, you probably have a case or faulty glow plug or bad tuning. Normally, it's a faulty plug....

Instead of threadlock on plastic parts, use CA glue.

What kind of parts are most of you guys keeping on hand for spare parts? I just broke a wing mount today, and got thinking about what I should keep for spares. I'm thinking, set of hinge pins, all the plastic suspension parts, shock shafts, diff gears, mabye some drive shafts, clutch shoes/springs, turnbuckles, and some other stuff like screws and such.

The only parts I've broken (not worn out and replaced) are front bumpers, wing mounts, and a carbon fiber rear shock tower.
And trust me...they all deserved it. Haha!

amainhobbies.com and nitrohouse.com both have the Jammin truggy for the cheapest that I've seen around. They are 619.99. I ordered mine from amainhobbies(paid for, just waiting for them to come in) cause they have free shipping. I ordered the rest of the stuff from nitrohouse cause they seem to have some pretty good prices plus what I wanted was in stock there and nowhere else.

This may have been asked already but why does the Jammin come with a 48t spur gear when I see that all other buggies come with a 46t what is the advantage of the 48t and do they make a 46t is so what is the part number.

well, i went and picked up some new fuel, glow driver, and hotter glow plugs today. when i installed the new plug and used the fresh fuel, the engine started right up!! without stalling after a few seconds too! i think that once the new glow driver is fully charged i should have no problem whatsoever. however, when i check the engine temp, it reads only about 140-160. it's about 65 degrees farenheit here, so should i lean out the high speed needle or leave it alone?
