Tamiya mini cooper
What body are you using with your 239mm chassis" i guess Tamiya offers only the modern mini cooper right?

Current Mini Cooper S wheel base is 2470mm compared to 239mm for Tamiya LWB equivalent. Around 1/10.
BMC Mini from the 60's had a wheel base of 2040mm compared to 210mm for the Tamiya SWB equivalent. Also 1/10.
I think you'll find it is the Datsun 280 ZX which is 1/12 scale. Wheel bases I could find on the web for the different models ranged from 2320mm to 2520mm which is closer to 1/12 scale when compared to the 210mm SWB M05 it will be mounted on.
More details are on the Tamiya America web site where it is still referred to as 1/12 scale . Kit p/n is 92213.

Does the 3Racing foam bumper for the M05 fit on the M03M?

its more because of the size of the chassis not the dimensions sit a 12th scale pan car and a M03/M05 next to each other- the wheelbases will be very close
and as far as I knew - that kit wasn't a pure tamiya offering in the beginning, I thought it was some other company's body and Tamiya was 'sub-contracting' (so to speak) the M05 chassis for it

The scale thing is more of a "guideline" than anything else. If you sit a Tamiya VW Beetle (M-04L) next to a Colt New Beetle (M-03S) the difference is huge. The old Tamiya Beetle, which at full size is a smaller car, dwarfs the Colt New Beetle.
Another example of "scale-ish." In our TT-01 class (1:10) there is a 49 Mercury and a Lotus Elise that are about the same size. HUGE difference between these cars in the real world.
