If you can find a 2.0 in good shape for under $200 buy it. That's a giveaway price. Buy that 2.0 or pass that deal off to me

Just ordered up some stiffer springs to try and race this thing on asphalt. Had a blast running it last week, just has some wicked lean in the corners haha

She is setup for dirt racing stock!

thicker sway bars (you can get away with 8ight front swaybars to go even higher!) will help quite a bit, as well as stiffer springs and smaller hole pistons and thicker oil.

22 shock pistons work in the stock shocks FYI.

Hmmm I didn't even think about the 22 pistons. Thank you!

Yes you can use blanks to custom make pistons as well.

Hello all,

This is my first post on here and I am over whelmed with the amount of info available. I have been flying Heli's and multirotors since 2004. I raced an RC10T in high school and a Tamiya mini cooper in 2006.

I just ordered the SCTE 2.0 kit. I'll be using a DX3R w/ SR3100 rx, a Savox 1210SG for steering, the Castle SCT Race Pro 3800kv combo w 13t pinion, and Lectron Pro 2s 5200 50C batteries.

Near as I can tell, this should be a solid set up. Any tips or trick for the build or set-up advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Great starting point. As for the kit, I recommend the stock setup to get started. Check out the setup sheets on TLR page when you want to try something different. In the near future buy some higher mah lipos. 7200-8000mah in highest C rating you can afford. lipos 70c to 100c have become the norm for higher power systems, but 50c works fine for the castle setup.

Might start out with Xray diff washers right now to extend diff service. Google "bulletproff SCTE diffs" for more info.

Ball bearing ackerman plate is a nice upgrade. http://visionracing.net/

Once you got your rig turning fast laps and need more steering consider the TLR aluminum front carriers.

Have fun with it!

Thank you sir! I like the Ackerman plate, what is the difference from the long to the short? How do they compare in size to the factory length? I will for sure be looking into the diffs, thank you again!

Hi TK421, our ball bearing ackerman plates are the same dimensions as the factory ones. We also have hardened diff washers you might try.

Pick up 2 packs of HPI Z449 screws and use them in place of the stock diff screws, which have a tendency to strip. They come in packs of 10 and you'll need 12.
Also, when you're putting the 2 chassis braces together, screw the threaded rod all the way into the plastic ends first (until it bottoms out) and then screw them into the aluminum pieces 2nd. Keeps the plastic ends from breaking. Other than that, the build is pretty straightforward and the truck is bulletproof.
