I was noticing a little clicking sound on my evo3 when I roll it. what it turns out to be, at least in my case, was that the axle on the rear was sliding in and out slightly. Unless you shim the axle to stop the play you will hear that sound. However, if you shim the axle be careful not to over tighten the wheel nuts, because if you do the wheel will bind.

i'll have a look again and see what happens. Thanx for the help. Yeah it only happens when I hold it on a angle on the ground no noise at all but I dunno

The noises from the driveshafts should be normal, its due to the slop in them. As long as they sound ok on the track they should be fine.

hey guys got my first race coming up soon so i gotta get my evo sorted! i've decide to race open stock class. i'm pretty much up against nothing but X-Ray Evo 2's, think i'm the only shaft driven!
anyway a few questions if i may,
what sort of tires and inserts would you guys run on a concrete track? tamiya type B?
what type of gearing do you all recomend for this small track with a stock motor? i plan on getting tamiyas super stock type s, which i beleive is 23 turn?
also anyone got a good setup for a small concrete track?
sorry one more thing ,does tamiya make a gauge for checking toe? if so anyone know the part number?

Hi.damn i wish i were preping for a race instead of waiting for my evo.
OK.are u running japanese stock?because Tamiya type T's are 23T and they cannot be entered in ROAR(american) stock.
and the type T's are the cheapest/lowest range of the tamiya stockers.i believe if u want cheap stockers then the Yokomo Pro stock 2 is even cheaper.
otherwise get the Type RR since it's rebuildable and tuned for more speed.at least 5-10bucks more.
basically u dont need a gauge for checking toe since u just slap on the proper toe-blocks.fine adjustment is not available(i think).
