I just put a revenge of the monster stock motor in my tbevo2 and it seems to like the Tamiya 48P spur @ 61Teeth with either a 24pinion or 25 pinion. I only got to run it 3 times...61/22 was okay, 61/23 was a little faster(motor way cool) ,61/24 you can feel and see the car really haulin! I bet the 61/25 will FLY!!
Don't knock the Monster...

I think I'll get one for my evo 3.(although this one guy at our track has a smokin! core but he's sooo overgeared he doesn't last the whole 5 min's with 3000's) hehehehe

Try GPM's 26 teeth metric 48 pitch. My CF Tb01 with 25/61 was doing the same thing. When I was driving the car, I was doing pretty good. When a buddy of mine was driving the car, he lapped the whole field and never looked back

I will be switching to standard 48 pitch from now on...we'll see what happens next

I noticed that the battery slots on EVO3 is not fitting very good on 3300 batteries. I did file the sharp edge but still it seems not secure holding the batteries in place. Any suggestion?

I have also run mine. It handles good! Better than my TC3. Efficient and slient. However I have make a mistake also and cause a quite serious collision too. What comes out is just bend a rear camber link screw and got a small crack arount 5 mm on the outer most surface in the rear shock tower near the body mount. It still as hard as before but I still add some AA on it to reinforce. I am now planing to make a double tower for it but the parts is not released yet. Does anyone have the idea that the TA04 carbon tower or 414m tower would fit on it. I just need it to be fit on the upper gear case mount.

That's very expensive.. $10.00 for a Ti 48pitch pinion. if you go to the Schumacher website you can order TIR Ti pinions in 48 and 64 pitch for about $5.00 each.

Hey guys.I need to find out how this car handles compared to the 414m2.I need to get rid of one car and focus on the other.I like the idea of the shaft drive{use to own a tc3 and still think its an awsome car}but I need to know what people think about this car compared to the 414m2.Suspension geomytry is very similar so what do you guys think?My evo should be here in 3days time.
By the way,I think the414m2 is an awsome car.If the evo handles about the same but has better acceleration that would be more then I could ask for.

Since you will have both cars you would be better suited than most of us to tell you which car is better than the other. The real question is which car fits YOU better and which one makes you a better driver or gives you the better chance of winning. It doesn't always matter what we think!

my friend has both cars and he says the evo3 is better right out of the box than his 414 it looks awsome too so much acceleration i had a drive of the car and it works pretty well

Round 2 of Western German Championship: Tamiya dominates


While Xray was dominating round one in November at the VIOL indoor
track, this time it was Tamiya dominating by winning both touring
car classes

Modified: First victory for new TB Evo 3
The Megadrom Geilenkirchen is the home playground for Markus Mobers.
And he spent plenty of time on the track – even two days together
with Jilles Groskamp - to be well prepared for this event. But
finally two Marc´s – Marc Fischer and Marc Rheinard – showed such an
impressive performance both with their Tamiya cars that Xray factory
driver Markus Mobers had to be satiesfied being the leader of the
rest. Marc Rheinard, racing his Orion-powered Tamiya TRF 414 M2,
took pole position ahead of Marc Fischer, who has change to Tamiya
and Orion a few weeks ago and was racing the brand new TB Evo3 for
the first time. Both Marc´s did 24 laps. Markus Mobers made it to
the third spot and missed the 24th lap just by 85 hundreds of a
second. Markus led a Xray pack with track owner Heinz-Jürgen
Kalinowski on fourth and René Püpke on fifth.

Young Marc Rheinard won the first a-main by one and a half second
ahead of Marc Fischer with Kalinowski some six seconds behind on
third. In the second a-main Rheinard took the lead again but ran
wide in a double left-hander, Fischer passed by and both cars
touched. Fischer took the lead while Rheinard had to retire. Fischer
drove the new TB Evo3 to a first victory with a three-seconds-
advantage over Mobers. Rheinard led the third a-main as well but
made one more early mistake to hand over lead and victory to his
friend Marc Fischer. Mobers came in at the tail of Rheinard on
third.

Overall win went to Marc Fischer ahead of Marc Rheinard, followed by
local heros Markus Mobers and Heinz-Jürgen Kalinowski. The b-final
was won by Tim Altmann (Losi).

Statistics: Five Tamiya made it into the final, all three TB Evo3
and two TRF 414 M2. Further more three Xray and each one Associated
and one Losi joined the a-main.

Looks like the Evo3 does have the right stuff Then again just
about 99% of all the pro touring cars arejust as good. At least the results tell us its not a dud.

Guys,

My EVO3 is 90% built. I have a couple questions!!

1. How much toe is in the back with the C rear block? Is it 2 degrees?? I didnt see that written anywhere.

2. How much castor do the front blocks have? Are there optional blocks with more castor?

3. I built up the drivetrain totally stock to break in all the gears, etc. Any idea if built stock if it frees up a lot-or do I need to go to extreme measures and completley rework the diff cases, bearings, gears, etc....

And as a side note-I notice you cant set the back-lash on the two gears in the tranny. Has anybody thought of a way to set the backlash so there is a tad less gear mesh?

Here are some answers

1. Rear uprights are 2' toe in
A block is +0'
B block is +.5'
C block is + 1'
D block is + 1.5'

So total toe in with C is 3'

2 I'm sure that the fron uprights give 6' caster and at themoment no other uprights are avalible
