depends what kind of racing you do. I personally don't care for the carbon chassis on the ta04 I think it handles better with the tub 04r chassis.

u have any buddies playing the bit char-g also?...it will b gd if u have some guys 2 play wif.
i have the carbon fibre lower deck on my 04r,well...it weighs a lot less,but also the car feel less stable 2 mi...

i have 2 bit char-gs and racing on it is pretty fun also with buddies...

I have the tub style chassis and my car is running so well at the moment (touch wood)that I am scared to make any changes to it. I have heard a lot of people say that they prefer the handling of the Tub chassis over the Carbon fibre lower deck.

i dun know y also,mayb it's the weight or even the cut-out on the carbon fibre lower deck which affect the wind below the chassis,but the carbon reinforced lower deck does handles better than the carbon fibre lower deck.

i tried flexing both the lower decks,it seems tat the carbon reinforced lower deck flex more,and this might have help in the car's handling as the car would have more chassis flex which will improve handling...

anyway,the 04r is definitely a great car 2 have!!!...

should i apply CA on the egdes of my carbon fiber upper deck?

what about teh carbon dampers stays, do they need CA?

i'm thinking of getting the carbon damper stay and sticking with the leight weight tub chassie.

Personally I have not put CA on the upper deck or the Damper stays. I have not noticed any delamination so far. I think it is up to you. I don't see it as a necessity but it wouldn't hurt either.
I would stick with the carbon reinforced tub chassis and buy something else like delrin out drives or some other weight saving option part.

do any f you guys use o-rings inside the shock shaft to lower ride height/stiffin your springs?
i find that the trf dampers are adjs. but twisting it down would just raise the heigth of the car with our stiffining the springs.

wierd why everyone says flex is better then no flex.......

A limited amount of flex smoothes your car out.
The stiffer you go on the chassis flex, the harder it is to run, because then you'ld really have to perfectly set-up your car everytime.
The setup becomes way more critical.
A litlle flex in a car makes it a litlle forgiving.

For most people this means easier!

The purpose of the threaded adjustment on the shock body is to raise and lower the car, not compress the spring. If want to increase the springrate, you should stand the shocks up more or use a harder spring. If you put a limiter inside the shock and use the ride height adjustments to compress the spring, you eliminate the droop which will reduce the amount of steering the car has and cause handling problems in bumpy sections of the track.

yup, he aint kiddin! I got a tb evo2 and it has virtually no flex...It took me almost 6 months to get the settings right.

Hey imataquito if you notice that's why xray now offers an optional flexible upper deck. On the TA04R you can control the amount of chassis flex by using the two middle screws on the upper deck or omitting either one or both.
